He was just taking a risk as we threw away the lead to trail. I'm sure he didn't care about us being solid or balanced at that stage. He wanted the game to open up more, so took off one of the DM's.

Exactly. This is where this argument is stemming from. The constant criticism of Pelle for months has been annoying, sometimes justified admittedly, but other times not. I get jumped on for criticising Davis and he's done a hell of a lot less than Pelle for a long time.

You seem offended. I won't comment anymore. I hate upsetting people. :(

I have this horrible habit of reading what everyone says, being honest about what I have seen and then using all that to query another's views. So ignorant of me. The worst thing is that, as you said above, disagreement is so boring and we only need to talk when we agree. That's right, right?

Not really on about you FLT. At least you can hold a convo and explain why (even if I disagree sometimes). I guess Pelle for some is the new Guly.

You did. In another post you moaned about Davis. You don't like Davis and moan whenever he plays.

My point is entirely sarcastic. I moan about Pelle and I'm a 5 year old and people throw stats at me. I threw a stat back.

I take stats with a pinch of salt.

It's because we're so heavily reliant on a couple players to provide us with chances that they tend to fall under the microscope. We just don't have too many quality attacking options, and with our defense (partially through injury, and perhaps partially through departures) looking like a pale imitation of last season's, we need their every effort.

Davis, Yoshida, JWP, etc...they're functional but underwhelming (JWP might become more than that; he hasn't yet). They don't get the same focus because with the window closed there isn't much to talk about beyond "I wish we had better options than playing them, particularly when playing them out of position".

I can only think you're not reading the posts correctly. Pelle is one of my favourite players. I just think he lets himself down. Great couple of goals. Amazing first half. Poor attitude second half. A five year old would say something like "he scored twice therefore he can't possibly be criticised".....oh look, that's what you said.

If Pelle gets injured at the start of the next game and is out for the season we will probably go down. Unless we signed good emergency replacement in January. He's probably the player I'd least like to get injured. I said you have the mentality of one, I didn't say you are one. Anyone criticising Pelle after he scored two goals today is pathetic and biased. That's my view and I'm standing by it. Laugh all you like, I don't give a **** what you think.

You and all of us are entitled to our opinions.

I started raising questions in Pelle about December time. It's all my fault. Sorry.

Can I point out, this is the first time I've said anything negative about Pelle this season. And I'm only being negative about his attitude over forty minutes of the second half today.

I just think we can do better than Davis. I'd prefer JWP to get more game time because he's got more potential and can actually cross a ball.

Not sure that I've ever posted criticism of Pelle before. Ever.

Today, he played wonderfully for just over half of the game. And for about thirty minutes of it, he gave up completely and threw in a long argument with JWP for good measure.

If that's "constant criticism" or "scapegoating" or "not looking at the bigger picture", etc, etc, then something is seriously wrong with your world view. It is - plain and simple - factually correct.

    Vin

You're right. I do wish though you sat with me today, listening to me gush over Pelle in the first half.

Rooney is the best striker EVER for England.

    Just saying.

This has become an argument about an argument. At that point, shouldn't we all just step back and thank the ****ing Lord for all those millennia of civilisation which have paved the way for us to have nothing better to worry about?:emoticon-0147-emo:

It's not you. I go to games and I hear Pelle get called a useless **** at least twice a game and it's been going on for ages and it's really pissing me off. I guess this has pushed me so far into defending him I can't tolerate any criticism of him.

Can I not "just think" something about Pelle? Or do the goals not allow that?

All I'll say in conclusion, is that the three people I know were at the game today are all independently saying the same thing. Something I don't think you'd have been able to see from watching on television (and that's no criticism of anybody's observation). That should, however, tell you something. And that's nothing to do with bias or 'being pathetic'.
