Didn't say you did. But as long as he is basically the only person stepping up goal wise then I am willing to give him a little slack. It's not like the rest of the team played well for 90 + mins. As I said before I get people that where at the game so saw it differently. But there comes to a point the people criticising Pelle time after time have to look at the rest of the team as well. Btw I am not about just todays game it's just a common theme for some.
Good for you. Why are you getting worked up though? My comment was just that, in my limited view, there were bigger issues. I am sorry if I offend
I have to agree. And not just because I met LTL today. Pelle's head dropped. He had a five minute argument with JWP spread over about ten minutes over I know not what and JWP was looking extremely indignant by the end of it. Not good at all. And that was after a long period of his playing superbly, should you think I'm on his back. You won't find many more vocal supporters of Pelle than I am. I'm not in the habit of having a go at him but he acted like a petulant child for about thirty minutes this afternoon. Vin
And I wish Yoshida had used his brain before deciding to pass it backwards without looking. I don't see any criticism for him, despite him costing us a goal and Pelle scoring both our goals.
I love stats. Steven Davis has been the 4th most creative midfielder this season. That's a stat fact.
How many times.... We're ONLY talking about Pelle because we disagree. The only reason I'm going on about this is because people are saying he was MOTM. Honestly, yes he got two goals (both set up by Mané by the way). Yoshida did a crap back pass - agreed. Koeman made a tactical error bringing off Romeu - agreed. See, nothing to talk about there. Makes for a boring forum. Pelle MOTM. No way. And here are my reasons why = discussion. Clear now!!?
It is a little worrying that some of our players and our manager look so demoralised so often, is there a lack of togetherness or confidence - sorry not trying to work a tabloid bust up saga!
Which is the stuff you just don't see on telly which is why I understand why people are confused by what I'm saying, but also why I think it needs to be said in explanation. It was the only thing people were talking about on the train on the way back. That game was the best and the worst of Pelle.
Beefy, you said yourself you weren't there and could only see what the TV showed you. I was waving lyrical about him first half. He was magnificent. Second half he spent most his time arguing with team mates and walking back and about 30 yards behind play. Why? Just a little jog into position and then have a breather. That's all that was needed. Something I tell my kids to do. Basic. Why stand arguing with a team mate when the ball is being passed to your man ten yards behind your back? It's something I've noticed and its a shame.
You moaned today I noticed, when the 4th most creative midfielder in the league this season came on. Why? #lovestats
You seem to be forgetting that Saints, and all the teams in the league, have played again since that Davis stat. It doesn't take into account the amount of minutes every player has played either. Stats like chances created aren't really something you can argue about, they are reality. The only thing you have to argue about is how they are defining a chance. Your comment about Yoshida is rather silly. You're getting upset about me defending Pelle, who scored twice today. Yet you're defending Yoshida, who cost us a goal and arguably threw away the game. It's time some posters grew up from a five year old's mentality of defending (and bigging up) their favourite Saints players no matter what , and having a go at Saints players they don't like no matter what.
You don't offend, I'm laughing, not worked up. You watch half the game and then moan at someone who discussed the whole game.
Read my other post. I said I am looking at it from more then just one game. Pelle gets a hell of a lot of criticism. Yet other players haven't stepped up for ages and enjoy a free ride.
Ha ha ha ha. Brilliant. I disagree with you and now I'm a 5 year old. I like Pelle, but he frustrates me. Yoshida is not one of my favourite playerd; I think he is limited. Next? Happy to discuss. I may also be being sarcastic and a little facetious
As I've said many, many times, he plays where I played and a role I understand better than the other roles. I'd also say that it's true what you say above, but it's that attitude that gets me.
