Well I can't help thinking back to Van Gaal saying the "players have to figure out on the pitch what to do and how to adapt when things are going wrong". So... when we start a match (every match) we are playing LVG's possession by a thousand cuts football. Then IF we go behind, the players have to use their own initiative. In short, they get to do what they were made to do - up the tempo and look to get forward. The same thing happened against PSV and Swansea (although it didn't pay off in those games). I don't think that's being unfair, I didn't see LVG doing anything on the touchline in any of the 3 games including tonight after that 30 min mark, it was the players.

Great result. I thought Carrick was off the pace today, he seemed to be a bit slow with his reactions although Mane may have had a hand in that.

As for Rooney I just don't understand what he is offering at the moment. He seems too keen to be involved in the play and is dropping too deep. I would much prefer Herrera to play as a 10. Very impressed with Martial who has been a revelation.

Going on Saturday so hope so. Went to the Sunderland game last season and the absurd ****eness of it it still seared on the memory, the passes back to the goal keeper direct from our corners and such like.

It's fair to say, we've improved since then. Di Mara and Falcao won't be playing for a start as they were beyond gash in the same game last season.

Bit worried that fast pacey football is now outlawed though, I must have missed that new ruling.

Still haven't seen today's game, I await MOTD with anticipation.

Motd won't do it justice IMO. It will show Saints dominance in the first 30 and show us snatch an equaliser. The second half will be a few minutes showing both goals and a few saints chances.

It will look like a smash and grab from us. A lucky win that we fluked.

Bar saints early performance and last few minutes, we were the better team, we passed rou d then for fun, resulting in a superb team goal.

    Nervy last few minutes though.

Just no UIR. We really weren't that good. An offside goal and a backpss goal were the difference. Had it been a draw we would have had little reason to complain.

The goal was offside but sometimes they go for you, sometimes against. There was still a lot of work to do before the goal.

The back pass isn't lucky. Its great anticipation by Martial followed by great composure to finish. He's capitalised on a mistake. That's part of his job description.

We were dreadful for 30 minutes and could have gone 2 down to be fair. So in a way I guess we Rodd our luck to that point but after that, we played well. Not amazing but a good comeback away from home.

The last fee were nervy as **** though. Needless goal to concede and weak defending from Blind. Should have closed the cross down.

In the end we deserved it. For 40 minutes in that second half Saints couldnt get near to is. This was confirmed by the third goal.

MOTD is best I can do, I haven't got time to catch the whole game.

I'm not stupid enough to be influenced by the BBC's skewed coverage though. I just won't be able to form a genuine opinion on how we played.

I saw about 25 mins live, either side of half time. Enough to see both Martial's goals.

You can surely read between the lines as to the ability of your team Chief from current form over the past 6 matches, reports in the papers, people who use the forum and your own 6th sense. My 6th sense tells me the battle for the Premiership will be between the NW's 3rd and 4th finest clubs. My friends in Liverpool tell me that the NW's finest are Liverpool and Everton, and of course I believe them!!

Again reading between the lines I feel SFC will struggle this year, The writing was on the wall last spring when the team struggled to score any goals...... Anyway that is it. Have a good sleep Chief!

I thought Saints are finally feeling the affects of losing too many of their good players. Their wingers are still quality mind.

The first 30 minutes were a clear indication that we are nowhere near where we should be . We could easily have been turned over.

The positives are that we have the players who can turn things round .

Martial despite having never played in the premiership until last week has hit the ground running.

And despite on low gear we are 2 nd 2 points off the top .

LVG is LVG and despite all the raging we are going to have to accept him for a couple of years. I believe him when he said he is preparing the team for his successor. There is no doubt that he'll leave a better team than ferguson did.

That was a good period of 46? passes I think I counted for the 3rd goal. In real time I think I may have got bored <whistle>. Probably about 4 poor passes throughout, but any passage of play like that which results in a goal is nice to see.

Well I can't really say how we played today based on the 15 minutes of match of the day and the last six matches, no. On that it looked a fairly even match which we won by the odd goal, can't really tell what happened in the 75 minutes they didn't show though. We've also been really up and down in the last six matches.

I agree with the fact the title will come to down to us and City though. We are getting progressively better and from what I've seen so far Arsenal and Chelsea are lacking something this season so that's a fair assessment.

Considering City were crowned champions a couple of week ago and we're now two points behind bodes quite well to be honest.

Left back could be a problem and Martial is bound to have spell when he can't score so that is still a bit of a worry.

    Unbelievable stat :
    • United have scored from their last six shots on target in the Premier League
We need to shoot more often on target :bandit:

It would be wonderful if the "Top 4" plus Liverpool was blown asunder this year, with two new teams making up the numbers. For Lancastrians you would love Everton to get there (and maybe Liverpool)

Anyone can post the goals here ( to be viewable outside uk)? Especially the 45 pass one!

Every clip I try to look at says " not Allowed at your location" , it's so damn frustrating <doh>

    Many thanks
