From the MetroLyrics website: "Here Comes The Sun" is track #2 on the album Love. It was written by Lennon/harrison/mccartney. That's where I took my info from, but I see that just about every other Beatles information source agrees with your comment, so Metro are presumably wrong. I have to say it certainly SOUNDS more like a George thing, Sheikh, and it seems although the other pair didn't have a hand in it, Eric Clapton did. (At least they didn't let Ringo near it - let's be thankful for small mercies!)
Correct. As a huge Beatles fan I am surprised I didn't notice that. Poor old George never gets the credit he deserves.
In fact, Lennon and McCartney didn't write that one, either. Indeed, Lennon was nowhere near the studio when George recorded it. He was recovering from being injured in a car crash at the time. Clapton's involvement in the song was, merely, that George wrote it in Eric's backyard (hopefully, not while Eric was banging his wife.) On that note, Patti Boyd-Harrison-Clapton-Weston has had the amazing honour of having three of the most famous songs in pop history written for and about her, namely: "Something", "Layla" and "Wonderful Tonight."
