For me we need to ship out the dead wood including Cisse and Saylor.

Then we need Austin, a left back and two centre backs.

Centre back and left back are No1 and No2. After that another centre back and striker would be nice to have. We have to be realistic about what is possible. I think centre back and left should be the focus, if anything else happens great but I wouldn't want it distracting from the priority.

    1. Get rid of Schteve
    2. Get rid of the likes of Cisse, Colo, Willo, Anita, Gini, Obertan.
    3. Buy some talented players to improve the first 11. We need 2 CBs, a LB, a DM, a RW, a LW and a pacey striker.

First we need a creative centre midfielder.
Then replace Colo once and for all.

McClaren will be gone by December. He will walk. If we lose to the Mackems AGAIN then people will turn quickly.

I think we need to go down. I don't think there's another solution that presents itself at the moment. What's the point in being in this league? Which players do we desperately need to keep through having PL football? What exactly are we going to challenge/win in this division?

Maybe I'm over-egging it, but the club feels dead to me.

I'm trying to stay positive but our season will rest on what we do in January I reckon.
Not sure how to call it.
Will Mike expect the drop and reign in spending accordingly or will he spend to stay in the division if we are in the poo.
Only time will tell I think.

I'm afraid I don't get him. He's very evidently not a tactical coach, having displayed that at Boro, FC Twente, England, Derby, now us. He's not a "use what you have coach", which is what we need. He's got precisely 2 tricks up his sleeve, either he has pacey players and he plays direct, or he doesn't and plays awful passing along the back (as he did for England), the latter relies on his team having a couple more worldies than the opposition who will take turns scoring to win the game 1-0.

I think he was such a bad choice for the current situation, other than the fact he was available on a free. Steve Bruce or Tony Pulis, for all we all hate them, are what this situation requires?

I'm not going to get on his back, it's going to be absolutely pointless because others will notice the mistake soon enough and do that for me!

We seem to lack any cohesion at the moment and that has to be down to both the inclusion of four new players and the coaching. It was noticeable how much quicker the ball was being moved forward through the midfield on Saturday compared to against West Ham, but this was probably down to playing only one holding midfielder. While the defence definitely requires work I think we have a much bigger problem creating chances at the moment and McLaren has to address this quickly. The good thing is it cant get a lot worse so he might as well experiment a bit. At least then he will know what and who he needs in January.

He is Graham Carr's mate. It was always going to be him. You have to wonder what a guy who has failed at management in non-league football is doing scouting players and essentially appointing managers.

I have said this time and time again, Graham Carr wields far too much influence. Steve McClaren is a Carr appointment. A boring, negative, one dimensional English coach who is completely out of his depth. We are getting worse with each passing week.

We have bloody well got to get some points on the board before we can even contemplate doing any decent business in January.

And a left back, surely you have now come to your senses? He's shocking. Him and Colo are killing us.

Anybody who does not prioritise a left back and centre back is an absolute lunatic. We have needed defensive strengthening for 5 years. As you say, it would all be a lot more simple if we actually bothered to get a foundation to work from. We have the worst defensive options in the league. It is not complicated.
