Ha, don't hold your breath Marcus. I'm over 30 years ahead of you, and I still spit blood when we lose! In fact, I'm still spitting blood over 1958, when we threw our 'never relegated' record away. Neither sleep nor drink helps. This morning, I'm still ***** ******* ****** *** ***** ** **** ******* ***** *** ****** **** ******** *** * ***** ********* **** *****, ach god-damned B*LLOCKS *********************************************************************** bloody livid. I don't enjoy losing. And I especially don't like two wonderful clubs like Sunderland and Newcastle being laughing stocks. This morning, I am thoroughly ashamed. Age does not cure it.
Calm down Relic. Watch your blood pressure. You're also living proof that you're brain doesn't have to turn to mush when retirement walks through the door!
I've trained my brain to be selective in what it retains in the memory and how it processes information, I've had to. I came out of the ground in a daze but ended up laughing at Newcastle being blasted by Shearer on MOTD. He's one of the few pundits who actually seems to really care about his team and football in general.
From the MoD highlights we look a much better bet to survive than our friends from the north, and the Wally looks every bit the part, but keep of the tables for now. Its too early for dancing
On to Tuesday night then! Nothing else we can do. At least Tuesday removes the ban for the league game for Kaboul! Him and Oshea at the back looked excellent against Spurs.
On to Tuesday night then? On to bloody Tuesday night then? Ffs, the best way to handle Tuesday night is to die on Monday afternoon. Aguero against our CBs - oh jesus, the joys of Spring!
Didn't see the game 'fortunately' what a waste of a early sun morn that would've been, same ****, different day ey fellas.. the general consensus on here was every1 happy with our transfers. To lose comfortably against a championship side is an absolute disgrace.. These are the games we need to win to ensure survival and boost morale.. Dick is on the big bucks too, time to step up! You look at both squads and compare, well we 'should' have the 3pts comfortably. Yes I know every game in the PL is tough but these games should be ours to win and a great afternoon for the travelling fans.
His post match interview was interesting. He knows it's not good enough but he's stuck with what he's got until January. Defence is abysmal.
With what he's got mate is his transfers are in the matchday squad! He's putting his stamp on this squad at the moment, no excuses. It was Dick Advocaats **** up yesterday as much as the players. My opinion.
Totally agree with you - I did say it was a gloomy prediction but realistic in my experience - absolutely gutting - I feel for fans who travelled down - no more predictions from me either - its a long trip back at best of times ......but all Sunderland fans so used to these things (not at all comfortable with them mind...) - hopefully our season begins on or after Tues - Manchester Double - KTF and ETU
Thats the way - but as always with Sunderalnd - realism -let you down --- low crowd & expectation against Man City - great chance to win (especially after seeing them MOD ) - KTF but ETU
Just a bad day at the office for us mate, we were terrible defensively and still on another day if Defoe has his shooting boots on and the lino has his contact lenses in we might have got something out of the game. Our defence is a real issue for us now, it's obvious that O'Shea makes the whole defence better but it might even be getting to the point where we need to dust Wes Brown down and see if he can help settle things down back there.
It's not just a bad day at the office Grimsby. You said it yourself later in your post, "Our defence is a real issue" We can all have a bad in the office and get away with it. But a PL club with a "real issue" defence isn't going to get away with it. You're tragically right about one thing though, with O'Shea were better!
For me the midfield set up needs looking at as there is little or no cover for the defence. Toivonen in ahead of Cattermole just is not doing it and to be totally honest Advocaat's selection and tactics are not looking the best. He appears to be searching for a system that the players cannot operate.
