    Morning Nick,

Glad we got the point, and really pleased with Bojan coming back, but we need to be killing this kind of game off.

Disappointing to let slip a 2 goal advantage especially as the penalty was a gift to the opposition and their second was a defensive error. No clean sheets yet......defending could cost us our PL status.

    PP.

Might be something to do with that Shawcross shape and size hole we have in defence.

True JM, but we shouldn't have to rely on one man, as good as he is, to shore up our defence. Still surprised not to see Wolscheild (sp) being given a start at CH. I am not too concerned yet but we need to start picking up a few wins to avoid being cast adrift in the bottom three. A win against Bournemouth is essential. We have the quality in the squad but we need to stop leaking silly goals.

There is no leader/organiser in our defence, nobody taking charge.

If Shawcross is back fighting fit by Christmas, I will be pleasantly surprised.

The missing link this season is in my opinion...being N'zonzi less

Very disappointing yesterday. We looked pretty good in the first half but then gave away a silly penalty (no argument) and were still hacked off with the official's regarding SJW being mauled, to defend well for the second.

I am a bit worried about the defence. Jack is a fabulous goal keeper but I wonder if his age/inexperience means he does not organise his defence as well as he might. I might be wrong though (I'm sure you'll point it out to me if I am).

Not feeling pessimistic just yet :emoticon-0100-smile

Zoz...my point, nobody organising the defence.

NO reflection on Jack...out if 6 games he has been MOM at least 3 times

youre a happy chap again now we didnt win again Nicky, im not worried, going forward we have enough quality and the defense will get better. If we are in relegation zone at christmas then i can understand the pannick. Look at the prem league its a right mess at the moment and will take time to settle out, dont start celebrating just yet Nicky, save the champagne until we are relegated lmfao

I agree Nick, he always seemed to have so much time when on the ball.

I actually thought it was a good game and both teams played well - we should have won (any team should being 2-0 up) but overall a fair result IMO. I agree with all that the defence is a major concern and is probably more worrying than our usual issue of years gone by in not being able to put the ball in the back of the net.

I said from day one that I would have accepted a transfer window that resulted in Huth staying and no other activity - even though we would have all been unhappy with the lack of activity. I still stand by this and the Club and Manager really need their arses kicking over the lack of planning around our central defence. This has been made worse by the loss of Begovic, not that I don't believe that Butland is doing a good job. The simple fact is that we have next to nothing in experience at the central spine of our defence, the triangle of safety that works as a unit to keep clean sheets. To be honest its amateurish and not befitting a club with our experience.

That aside, I don't think things are as bad as they seem - we just have to face that its going to be a consolidation season at best.

I'm afraid I was amongst the people saying it was right for Huth to leave. We are really missing that experienced voice in the back line.
