Or it will actually push more people to support the least vested interest politician in my lifetime. Like I've said, some of his ideas are just plain stupid but I'd take some plain stupid over self - interested spin and policy. People like you condescending the masses might just start JK's revolution! If enough people think before voting then who the he'll knows what might happen? Bah!
I think what differs now is that spin is so quickly found out and parodied on social media. People are seeing the lies more quickly and not believing what the Media is choking us with. There actually appears to be a dialogue occurring and younger people are signing up in record numbers to join e.g. Labour, because they just cannot see how they will get out of the current malaise of high rents and low pay.
Yes, you are right it will push more people to support him. But it will also push other people away. And those most vociferously in his support are also uncommitted. My 26 year old son loves JC. But if he has a skinful on the night before the election he won't get up to go and vote. Either that or he will be too busy playing a video game. But I do love this starry eyed optimism for the new order. But your last sentence says it all, IF they think before voting. Let's just see what happens electorally over the next year. His current approval rating of 31% doesn't exactly suggest a groundswell of support.
Disappointed that this thread has not addressed the most pressing issue facing the country ...why is David Cameron's head THAT shiny? ... ... personally I suspect that it is made from weapons grade polymers and that the country is now being run by REM ... the clue is cunningly hidden in song lyrics ...'shiny happy people'... they thought they had got away with it but some of us are ever vigilant ... I belong to the ancient 'Order Of Scargill' that has risen from the ashes of the ethnic cleansing of the indiginous Colextractur peoples of this fine land ... we are patiently awaiting the time of prophecy ... when Excalibur will come forth from it's resting place and once more be carried in the vengeful hand of a future King Arthur - then will be the land be cleansed of the plastic heads ... that's not a literal translation of the legend of course ... more a summary .
Steve Bell tends to depict him fairly accurately. Some sort of condom-rubber/plastic hybrid: please log in to view this image
I can claim the honour of having voted for Arthur Scargill in an election. It's the same story as JC really, talks some sense but try persuading people to vote for him.
Scargill didn't have the internet, people couldn't find out the news for themselves, the masses had to get all their information (Tory propaganda) from the press
By the way this is what I've done today for the first time in my life Have you cancelled your membership yet CT? Real shame if you have
I think that's a shame. We need to pull together now more than ever and it would be good if we could have representatives from all wings of the party.
I agree with many of his policies. I even agree with John O'Donnell that what was done in Ireland had to be done. Thatcher seemed to thrive on all the killing and bombing and thought that there was a military solution. What I can't go along with though is Corbyn's contempt for the media. Whilst I agree that the press in general and the Murdoch press in particular are beneath contempt they are going crucify Labour. The only voters left will be those like me who don't fear lacking a nuclear deterrent or nationalisation. 20%. There is absolutely no point working for a Labour victory, it ain't going to happen.
Soooooo, 'Pig-gate'. Another example of the depraved bourgeois practices of the establishment. The Revolution can't come soon enough.
