I always find these posters, from both sides, quite amusing. If the public isn't aware of it then how did the person responsible for making the poster find out? And it's nonsense to say that the papers were not told - like the Mirror, or the Mail when the shoe's on the other foot, would cover everything up <ok>

The way things are going a change of government is not going to happen for a long long time, thankfully.

If Cameron, Osbourne and IDS get re-elected then there is no hope for the nation! They have proved that they don't mean what they say time and time again.

Not entirely sure you could say that Blair and Brown kept all their promises either. Nature of politics unfortunately.

I'm sure they will follow the mandate from the 2015 election manifesto to the letter. Smaller government, boundary changes, increased NHS spending, raising the income tax threshold, reduce the benefit cap, extend the right to buy, more childcare, raise tax thresholds, etc. This all looks like sensible policies to me.

Plenty of hope unless you want to sit on your backside claiming unlimited benefits?

I must say I find the argument going on here to be strange in the extreme. My daughter who is currently having a weeks break with us out here works long and hard for the NHS. She runs a clinic in Aylesbury three days a week for people who have had ear operations and need after care and also works as a theatre nurse in Oxford the other two days. Quite often she will be pulled out of her bed at two or three o'clock in the morning to go and insert a tube into someone's throat. She chooses how to spend the money she earns by the effort she has put in over the years, not on trifles, but into her house and her Audi sports car. It seems that some would like to say that she should not be allowed that choice, but should drive something more modest to reflect that she is just a non-blond working person.

I am also following the 'Audi' debate with interest. In common with Corbyn I have 2 bicycles - I believe that people should first of all check if their journey is necessary, if so then use their feet, public transport or a bicycle - for me all car drivers are ozone killers (which I know will set feathers flying here). I long for the day in which all individuals feel themselves responsible for their own carbon footprint. Whichever party is in power Britain is using up natural resources at such a rate that if the whole world were doing the same we would need the resources of 4 planets. Britain is one of the worst culprits in co2 emissions, along with Germany and the USA, and this theme is the most important of all.

I don't get involved in the car debate, aside from agreeing with OFH and WY that you should drive what you want and not be judged (well unless you're a "boy racer" but that's probably a subject for an entirely different grumpy old git thread). I have never driven in my life. I have always lived in outer london and work in central london so use public transport or walk - not for any environemental reason but because it suits me. When people talk about Audis, BMWs, Seats or whatever they may as well be discussing 17th century *****lian chamber music.

The British government made the huge mistake several years ago by encouraging motorists to switch from petrol to diesel, presumably to be more efficient. It is now accepted that diesel engines produce a higher degree of dangerous particulates than petrol.

Did other governments make the same balls up.?

Top totty? I think you have finally shown your hand and true colours - I will not be wasting any further keyboard seconds on such an obvious troll. Your style reminds me of another...
But I won't judge your girlfriend on the car she drives...

    You
You have me all wrong ...I'm no troll . Just passing comment's to stimulate discussion , while resting my aching back .
As a result of my almost completely irrational car prejudence ( not envy , I could afford to significantly upgrade my girly 13 year Ford Ka if I so desired ). ..we have discovered that Dan has never driven ..and Cologne has 2 bikes ...both fascinating facts .
I propose that we all meet up in the flesh at the Vic for a themed intro . Last of the Summer Wine theme my suggestion . I propose gardener Jim ie self , as Compo , Dan as Clegg , Wear yellow and Superhorns can battled it out to be the posh pompous one .... Cologne ..you are Nora Batty ( heard you look good in tights ) ...and Dave , you can wear your yellow bird outfit .
Ps just remembered why I'm not keen on Audi driver's ...There is always a bloody Black Audi in my rear mirror trying to shunt me off the road ....often driven by a generic middle aged female .

I decided some time ago not to post on this thread, simply because it felt as though I was achieving nothing except winding myself up. I will break my rule to self this once to say that the barmier the thread gets, the more amusing it becomes. It's hard to take much of it seriously which has perhaps rather defeated the object of having a significant political debate. Apologies to those who have tried to present reasoned and reasonable views.

Long since learned talking politics is pretty well pointless ...whether we like it or not we tend to hold deeply ingrained views which do not change . A football supporter's forum site is not really fertile ground for serious political debate .

In defence of my ageing Ford Ka ...it starts , gets me from A-B .. because they are basically made of washing machine grade metal they are extremely light ..the 1.3 engine is nippy , it handles like my very first car a 1.3 mini .
Spares are inexpensive , If a tyre needs replacing, cost is around £35 . Because the car is old , I do not threat about knocks picked up . My car has been stationary in the same Aylesbury car park ..and incredibly hit / shunted on 3 separate occasions .. each time by former colonial cousins. I was beginning to wonder if there is some kind of scam going on . ..Never bothered to make an insurance claim on the poor battle scarred creature .
For your information I'm not a timid driver . Some of the speeds folk drive at are pretty scary ...

I'm sorry but now WFC have rich owners that subsequently buy £million + players we have a reputation to live up to. I'm afraid we cannot allow supporters of our beloved club to turn up on match days in such an old banger. I know its harsh but this is the reality of life in the premiership.

Can I suggest you change your affiliation to the rather down market club up the M1, it might be easier to get to from your village, especially if you are driving at 20 miles an hour.
