    £300 million <yikes>

Priority #1 is to surely find out who the f#ck thinks that giving Rodgers and Ayres this much money is a good idea, then shoot them <ok>

Think about it. We don't even have an established winger at the club, have to play a CB at LB and still believe that Lovren will 'come good'. We are at least an entire first team short of anything <laugh>

You just don't get much for £300m these days <laugh>

Not only Liverpool make errors in the transfer market. The much admired Southampton have made three monumental errors in their transfer dealings since getting back to the Premiership

Ramirez (around £11m) nowhere to be seen
A Norwegian whose name escapes me (£4m) did not even appear for the side and is now back in Norway
    Osvaldo (£12m) back in Argentina

And clubs like Southampton can ill afford such disasters!!

But the champions for making duff signings has to be Chelsea - signed then promptly sent out on loan.

PS Hope Lallana comes good for you but I sense this player is outstanding playing for a less illustrious club. If he were sold to Leicester for example, he would look world class.

  4. Still find it amusing that all the players you like are committee signing but Brod is responsible for the ones you dislike #amazingcoincidence

    teams teams then, happy?

a squad consists of eight to fourteen so a team and subs, yes almost 3 full squads.

    3 squads is 11+3 subs 42 not 75 you dope <laugh>

  7. You never said match squad either :p

All clubs have to submit a 25 man squad list. They can chose to have less but a full squad would suggest 25 players plus any under 21s that don't have to be registered.

Yes, you meant teams and I'm being pedantic as ever :)

I must admit I've been very much against DOF but I'm starting to think that is what we need.

It has become clear the system(s) we have and have had in place have not worked for us in getting quality players at decent prices.

There are too many people involved with a lack of experience in the subject - from the owners down to Rodgers.

Its mad how a club as big as ours with millions flying around in controlled by such amateurs.

I think the time has come for a dof but then against there are example where it didn't work (Spurs).

Regardless, its got to be worth a go.

I think I've had over 50 players out on loan in football manager. <laugh> After about 5 seasons of signing all the best youth on the cheap, I have way more players than I need.

It makes summer really tedious trying to find homes for everyone not good enough.
Wage bill is always stretched to the limit but I always make a healthy profit in transfer market in part, on a bunch of players who never even played for the club. Naturally I keep the best.

5 or 6 years of doing this and I become an unbeatable force. <ok>

It's all well and good wanting a DoF to have a firm and consistent philosophy in the club, but we're still left with the same question as the manager's job; who?

If you have a top manager, it makes no difference who else is around because they'll make it work and get the most out of players. We don't need a DoF and never will if we hire a competent manager who are looking for a long term deal. If we go for **** managers like Rodgers, then we need a competent DoF who'd come and stay for a long term deal.

DoF or just a manager, it makes no difference. We just need ONE person who's not a totally clueless, teeth-whitening tool. Who's available besides Klipperty and even then, would he even be interested?

Raphael Hoenigstein is a reliable German journalist with close ties with Klopps reps - he said FSG approached him twice (before they hired Rodgers, and around Xmas last year).

FSG do want Klopp and maybe willing to go for him again now that he's available...

In terms of anyone else - Unai Emery and De Boer would both be interested IMO.

  15. You said squad. There is a named squad of up to 25 players for PL or Europe. Only the competitions that don't have this are the two domestic cups which would represent the minority of games even if we made both finals #logicfailindeed

Now you are just being a pedantic so and so..

I obviously meant they had 30+ players out on loan, we know the number right.. meaning I meant 3 full 11s.

But you got all contrary Mary on me <laugh>
