I like the story about him picking a team and then asking his wife what she thought. She pointed out that it was a good XI, but that he'd forgotten to pick a keeper!
Years roll by but some things don't change, Rose is still a defensive disaster just waiting to happen!..
The fox sports commentators started the 2nd half with "1 or 2 incidences of giving the ball away in the first half for Erik lamela...........maybe more than 1 or 2"
Rose has looked off the pace today. Short a yard of pace and not entirely at the races all the time either. Hopefully he improves
You expect Danny to look good going forward, but he had developed as a decent defender too, and he's switching off too much tonight.
The frustrating thing is his decision-making: all too often he doesn't do the simple thing, like play the ball for a one-two or whatever, and instead tries something more difficult which either leads to him losing the ball or running into a position where the only option he has is to play it backwards. Yet when he keeps things simple, he's effective. Watch the gif for 2-1 for an example: he picks up the loose ball, plays it to Alli and runs forwards for a one-two - and when Son plays in Alli, he takes up a good position in the box. I can't remember who compared him to Walcott last season, but they were spot-on in that regard: when he's only got a split second his instincts are usually right, but when he has got time to think his decisions are usually wrong. ...and before anyone jumps on me, I'll mention that I spent the first twenty minutes of the match reading someone looking for any excuse to slag off Tom Carroll. I should've checked if it was Ghoddle10.
