You'd seriously have Ramsey as our right winger? Not that I agree with some of your other suggestions in your post, but this one was certainly stuck out. Ramsey is one of our slowest players and you'd have him on our wing? I don't subscribe to the Wenger school of central midifelders fit in any role philosophy. We have players who can play on the wings and do a better job.
The whole match was a pile of ****e but you can't write off players who've had their first game in months based on a bad performance. Gibbs, Ospina, Debuchy, Campbell and Arteta were all awful (as was the majority of the squad) but if it's your first game in a long time then chances are you'll struggle. The problem might be less obvious if it's one or two changes but whole scale like that and we all saw the end result. I have no qualms with rotating the team as it's part of maintaining a squad for the entire season but there are ways to go about it.
You are concentration on the wrong thing. The formation I posted was Wengers standard 1st choice 11 not mine.
I've got no real qualms about our strength in depth, besides at DM and Striker, and it's been the strongest it's been in years. But my major worry is that every time we rotate, the players coming in look really rusty, there seems to be no organisation or familiarity between players, particularly in defence and GK, and the pace of our play drops off as we struggle to play simple passes. Realistically we could have rested a few more players and still beaten Dinamo last night, instead we looked well off the pace, unable to pass, to build any momentum or stop even the most basic attacks. It's worrying.
You're excusing mediocrity. You can't say very mediocre players are 'rusty'. They're not rusty. They're just not very good. A squad containing only Coquelin, Arteta and Flamini as DMs and you have no qualms? Wenger... is that you?
I don't think anyone is to be honest and we're all thinking we're stuffed not getting a DM, it's just some say it and some don't, and those who don't say it as a way of support to Wenger. Personally, I will criticise Wenger if he makes a mistake. But he keeps on making this mistake in the transfer window which makes me believe he doesn't care about the DM position.
I think a French international rb is a pretty good replacement for us, as is an England international lb. obviously a new do is needed. But that wasn't my point, and I was hardly making excuses to say that our problem seems to go deeper than personnel. I was trying to say that whenever the team has been rotated over the years, we've struggled, regardless of which players were on the bench.
We went into the season with 2 injured midfielders, Rosicky and Wilshere (both were out before a ball was even kicked), and we sold Diaby, basically that's 3 midfielders who are slotted as first team midfielders out before a ball is kicked....In such a situation, simple logic tells you that you need at least one more body in there. If Wenger really thought there were was nobody, and it didn't have to be a Vidal or a Shneid, that could come in and improve on what we have, (Flamini, and 2 crooked players who probably won't even play this year), then yeah, we can safely assume the man's going senile.
I'm pretty sure people have been feeling like this for quite a long time now, don't think it's just a recent thing. I'm fed up with all of it. It's the same ****, just a different season. A lot of fans, myself included, have absolutely no faith whatsoever in any of the players or the manager. And I don't think I will ever feel optimistic about Arsenal again until the man in charge leaves. For the time being, I just hope we can maybe overcome the odds and do well, but I don't expect it.
