Hull council officer Patsy Kays has apparently just passed away, I know nothing about her, but apparently she played a significant part in securing the Siemens deal. RIP
Paul McNally, lifelong City fan, who some fellow oldies may remember, and holder of a football first, passed away this week, aged 65.
He's got a brother Shaun in Germany, he used to post on here, big tall skinny bloke, long battle with the drink, he got mentioned in Shaun Tordoffs book a few years ago
We all lived on West Parade, Londesborough Street when they built the new houses in 1967 ish, we all moved in at the same time, with the Collins brothers and the Youngs all City fans even then
Shaun got in touch when he was over about 3 years ago, we went to a game and had a few drinks. Saw Paul at the KC last season for first time in years. Not well at all, scars all over from cancer operations, apart from his drinking problem. Had some good away trips in late 1960s and early 1970s with Paul in the days when you were lucky to have a busful of fans there. Sad to hear of the passing of another fan from years back, was at the funeral of another City stalwart last year.
A mate of Anthony Blunt the Russian spy who allegedly assisted in the defection of Burgess & Mclean from Britain.
Jackie Collins RIP. shocked about this news, seemed so vibrant and full of life on her recent telly appearances. Time to re-read the Lucky books. Thanks Jackie for the hours of pleasure and escapism you gave me in your books x
Yogi Berra has died aged 90. He was a very successful professional baseball player (rounders). He had a cartoon named after him, was married for 65 years and he came out with some great quotes, 'Yogiisms'. You wouldn't have won if we'd beaten you. No one ever goes to that restaurant anymore, it's too crowded. If you come to a fork in the road, take it. You can observe a lot by watching. Cut that pizza into four slices I'm not not hungry enough for six. Baseball is 90% mental and the other half physical. It ain't over till it's over... http://nypost.com/2015/09/23/yankees-legend-yogi-berra-dead-at-90/
So sorry to hear about your sad loss Ref. Your brother brought much pleasure to so many. Belated condolences.
