Well a double fracture and an estimated 6-9 months out. A massive shame for the club but especially the player as he was really starting to show why we paid so much.

Let's hope it's the lower end of the recovery time scale and that he makes a full recovery, getting back to the firm he's been showing.

For a double fracture it's not as bad as it first seemed really. i.e., what my initial reaction was as I thought it was an almost David Busst scenario.

He should recover, it's a double break but he wasn't impacted from both sides like Busst so I guess depends on how clean a break it is.

Wish him well. It will take away a lot of our attacking intent and we don't have enough of that anyway. Blind is ponderous by comparison, although is a very good defender so that's a minor plus point.

I'd like to wish him well. Horrific image. For what it's worth, I remember when Cisse (not a fraction of the player of Shaw, I know, but equally speedy) suffered a similar break he returned with no loss of pace. So here's to a similar outcome.

On Blind, he's very slow, especially compared with Shaw but he's very intelligent in his play. Youbrarely see him get beat at left back or centre back. I'm not overly worried about the defensive side of things. The attack is the concern. It's already thin and Shaw really contributed to it.

Yep, he was your only attacking threat at the Bridge last season. At least he was prepared to cross the halfway line and play vertically

You may have to reign in your spending as well (a little) after your latest financial results: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...per-cent-due-to-Champions-League-absence.html

Someone like Ashley Cole maybe in the next window.

Those results were blatantly obvious as we knew in advance we would lose the CL revenue. The forecasted results are impressive mind.

The bus has been replaced by a toboggan..:bandit:

The match against the Arse will be absolutely critical with consequences for the rest of the season. If the chavs draw and City win, that's a gap of 13 points after 6 matches. Jose will be fighting for a CL place.

I don't think any Chelsea supporter will be thinking about winning the title this season, regardless of what happens against Arsenal. 11 points is a big gap, especially with the way Chelsea's team is looking this season. The defence is shot to bits, and there best attacking players look very low on confidence. To get back into the title race they'd have to snap out of this form pretty quickly and go on a long winning streak, and I don't think the the problems there having can be sorted out over night.

They'll probably creep up into the European places, but no way will they challenge for the title

They all struck complacency together. Worse than Moyes' United <whistle>
