Perez and De Jong should BOTH start next game.

We're quite often we're relying on hoof balls and risky passing at the back to get us out of our own half. Not to mention Kruls distribution is the worst in the league.

We could really use a player like Perez who starts behind the striker, comes back to deep positions to collect the ball and makes runs up the pitch, allowing our other players to run into space off the ball, and giving us a less rigid approach. Perez is without a doubt the best dribbler we've had in a while. He may not be as spectacular as Ben Arfa was on his day, but he's far more consistent. For such a young lad to look as comfortable as he does on the ball in this league is remarkable.

He should be ****ing playing!! If you'd asked Ben Arfa to collect the ball from deep and run up the pitch you'd be committing suicide. Perez is different. He doesn't often give the ball away, and he's too good to be wasting away on the bench and making sub apps in hopeless games.

I'd play this next game -

    ------------De Jong------------
    --------------Perez-------------
    Thauvin--Wijnal--Anita---Sissoko
    Haidara--Colo--Mbeba--Janmaat
    ---------------Krul-----------------

Cisse basically needs direct service in the box and we don't have the set up at the moment to give him that. We have to change our approach for now. Otherwise he's just going to be sitting up top waiting for no service or having to track back.

Perez is a hard worker, and he and De Jong deserve a chance IMO. Despite De Jong not playing very often, he seems to get into good positions and look a threat.

While Mitrovic is out I'd rather have a bigger presence like De Jong up front. I know he prefers to play behind the striker, but I can't be arsed to watch more of isolated Cisse.

Agree except I would have Aarons start ahead of Sissoko. Sissoko gives very little each game save 2 or 3 runs which usually end up in Dead Alley Street.

I agree except I'd swap SDJ and Perez round as a presence isn't required to build through midfield. His channel running and ability to bend his runs on the line of the defence will stretch them and make space for SDJ to find and operate in. Sissoko should be nowhere near the team at present. Aarons every day of the week for me.

He has been useless in the middle. His problem is he is thick. And I mean in football intelligence as well as general intelligence. So he doesn't understand how to run a game. The only signs we've had from him was when he went to No.10 in a counter attack. If he is No.10 in a possession style like McClaren he just looks clumsy. Basically I'm wondering how long it will take McClaren to work out that Sissoko is ill suited to his style. He could be of use from the bench to bring on and provide that pace/power when teams are tiring. He isn't going to be happy with that. I reckon McClaren has already decided Colback and Sissoko are bluechip despite one being a carbon copy of a midfielder he already has and of mediocre quality, and the other being a bad fit for his style.

If that turns out to be the case we are in for a horrible period of watching them flounder. Bottom line is Sissoko in a top 8 side would be an impact sub like he is for France. In the lower sides like ourselves he has to be first pick. So we are caught in no mans land because we want to adopt a top 8 style of play i.e. controlling the game. However this means biting the bullet on players.

Difficult to argue with that sentiment or that formation. Sissoko is best on the wing cutting in with his powerful runs IMHO.

Agreed, both need to start, personally I'd have Aarons starting as well over Sissoko. When De Jong, Perez and Aarons came on against the hammers we actually looked like we had a slither of attacking intent about us but Dejong and Perez had 30 mins and Aarouns around 15mins so it was to late.

I would also consider dropping Anita, he has been as good as he ever has at NUFC recently but needs an enforcer next to him as he isn't physical enough. rather see Sissoko (wasted on the wing) and Widj playing the CM roles.

Problem is, that he doesn't do the powerful runs enough to merit being in the team. And even when he does a powerful run how many times has something positive or substantial happened. The answer is very, very few.

I'd drop Sissoko. I was willing to give him another chance, but sorry, he turns up when he wants and clearly doesn't want to play for us. Let him rot on the bench and see where that gets him. It might make him buck up his ideas. Get Aarons in ahead of him.

We really need to stop with this two holding midfielders bullshit as well. I would drop Colback. He has been dogshit this season. Get Aarons, De Jong and Perez in the side. Drop that useless **** Cisse.

Yep those are the three that need to go. Haidara too but there is no secondary option there.

Its obvious to anyone who should be playing on merit - none of this favourites bullshit we have going on with Sissoko and Colback. They have been garbage. They don't need to move position etc etc, they need to be dropped and improve.

    Krul

    Janmaat
    Haidara
    Mbemba
Colo or possibly even Saylor as Colo hasn't been too hot

    Anita
    Gini

    Thauvin
    SDJ
    Aarons

    Perez

Those are the guys who should be playing on merit. I don't like this untouchables bollocks when players aren't performing. Nor do I think oh well give him a go somewhere else. If Tiote is committed and the Daily Fail is talking bollocks, I might prefer him doing the donkey work instead of Anita. However Anita has done quite well. Colback, Sissoko, Cisse, and Haidara have been terrible. Janmaat has not been pulling up any trees either and nor has Colo. Gini has been hit and miss. We have a lot on to turn this around, but first and foremost I'd start by picking players who suit the style and are in form. Perez, Aarons and SDJ all fit that description.

I know, how can we go from having 9 left backs under Pardew with at least 5 starting to having to pick ****ing Haidara?
