That's why we sold Colback grafts a lot but won't get forward, Cattermole will be next then Larsson any offers ?. Why the hell teams like Liecester are up there is they are not afraid to have a go, both our teams a negative as hell.

Colback isnt good enough but he's probably the first name on the team sheet

Out of the frying pan and into the fire with McClaren

Agree with all of it, especially Colback/Anita or Colnita as I will now refer to them. As you say both are too similar and add nothing to the team over the other. Personally I would prefer to see a CM of Tiote behind Widj and Sissoko with Aarons, Thauvan or Perez out wide and then SDJ or Mitro up top after that woeful display from Cisse last night.

I suppose the only positive was that there weren't quite as many negatives as usual.

Monday night, away, in London is the un-golden trinity so no surprises and not worth beating ourselves up about. Focus on Watford.

PS Is this a good time to mention Payet got me 16 points in the Mens FFS?

Before the season started, how many of the Leicester, Crystal Palace or Norwich players would you have taken? In addition, who would prefer Ranieri or Pardew in charge?

There is something fundamentally broken at Newcastle, on a number of levels and it will take a fair old time to get it right. The passion and desire to want to play for this club is missing. Interestingly Mr T came out with a little sentence - as he does - that actually summed it up really, really nicely. There is no chemistry at the club at all.

I would have Ranieri, Pardew walked out and you can see why, for all the ****e associated with him the one consistent is that the players graft for Pardew, I said a couple of weeks ago that McClaren sitting in the stands during a match is disconnected from what's going on, we have gone backwards and all the possession in the world means nowt if you don't do anything with it, I would rather 39% possession and 20 shots, at least have a ****ing go please rather than this Arsenal Mentality where you have to get within 6 inches of the goal before shooting or just play keep ball and then lose the match. Without some serious changes we are walking deadmen as there comes a point when you can't come back from this.

im going to give it the customary 8 or so games that our usual upheaval warrants before i start panicking. we were worse at southampton etc last year and went on a decent run once everyone started to settle in. Im just echoing others but yes anita wij with de jong in front of them and preferably aarons and whoever else is up for it on the wings. Ayoze is a must also, whether up front or on the wing.

ill be concerned if we set up exactly the same as west ham as there are obvious deficiencies. At least we have some sort of options though, i could see us in a 4 3 3, also tiote to come back in somewhere. possibly not as bad as it seems.

The only positive i got from last night was that it cant be that bad again.
Danny Mills made a good point that noone seemed to be making runs off the ball to drag players out of position and create space meaning that we were having to piss around with it across the back. It was like they only wanted to play when they had the ball at their feet.

I just want rid of the 4231, to be honest. And Colback of course. 433 please, Steve. Anita or Tiote DM alongside Sissoko and Gini, front three of SDJ, Perez and Thauvin. Dummett to left back asap.

another positive is that Shola was NOT offered a return to the club so in essence he has at last been found out. The sound of BRS lighting his celebratory firework display could be seen as far away as Consett.... once the fog lifted....

    Cisse
Cisse an awful footballer, but there is no one I want in the 6 yard box more than him. Sissoko has the pace and stamina to get forward and back, but mostly ive picked this side because the ball needs to move faster, we need to attack quicker and more vigorously.
Colback and Anita have both been very guilty of safe passing, backwards and side to side, whilst we are retaining possession in areas miles away from the opposing goal, the opposition are given the opportunity to re-organise themselves and get players behind the ball, making it harder for them to break down.
I think this is the most attacking side we can currently put out, and I would probably even give obertan the chance if fit just to stretch the game out a bit.

You didn't sell Colback. He came on a free. That's what happens with feeder clubs like yours.

Yeah but they are normally Tottenham's feeder club, well they take Tottenham's rejects.
Likes of Defoe, Kaboul, Chimbonda, Tainio and this American kid on loan for example.

Colback has improved since he left them, but he is still just a good squad player. At present we are using him too much due to Steve fumbling around in midfield a bit, and also of course Tiote losing the plot. Last season he performed above expectations. This season he is performing well below. The reality is somewhere in the middle as good back up.

That's twice in one day I've agreed with T/T.
Long term, he will be a kind of Steve Watson type of utility player who can fill in across the middle and down the flanks if needs be.
Last season I was the first to praise him for taking a step up and playing out of his skin, he was marvellous and won several supporters player of the season awards.
As our squad has and will inevitably improve though I can see his role diminishing.
It's important to have players like him in our squad IMHO.

It is and they will serve you well if used correctly. This is why Sunderland staff were so bitterly disappointed to lose him. Not because he was their main man but because you need those types. Fulfills the quota, gives it 100%. SAF entertained the likes of Wes Brown, John O'Shea etc for years. They were never good enough to be first choice for a top side, but they were good enough to perform an important role for the squad.
