Just add your name to this thread, and once I have 20 names (including my own) I will draw the sweepstake from my CAFC bobble hat.

The winning team/name will win £70 for his/her chosen charity. The runner-up gets £30; the third- placed team gets £20; and the teams finishing bottom of the pools get a fiver each.

    Cheers.

    P.S) My money's on Namibia.

Thank god it's not a prediction game as I know nothing about rugby.

Throw my name in the hat, and I hope to get Namibia if you think they're the team to beat ;)

As it's for Charity, stick my name in the hat too.

It's a big IF, AllHell, but I like your thinking. <ok>

    Ten names already. <ok>

If we can fill the other ten places in good time, I'll draw the sweepstake this evening. My son and youngest daughter will be adjudicator and witness to the draw.

It costs nothing (except to me and perhaps AllHell) and could win your favoured charity a decent donation. And I'm good for it.

    Cheers.

Another wonderful gesture from ponders, and though I'm sure no one doubted him, I can confirm he is good for it as he sponsored my friend Kirsty when he ran a similar competition <ok>

Cheers, SuperC. Kirsty's cause was honourable and certainly a pleasure to support.

I've also done a few of these on GC, but it's not easy to get a sensible response.

It's good to learn how and why others choose to support differing causes.

I know what you are saying PEA... yes it's a big IF..... I assume the draw is being undertaken under strict FIFA rules <laugh>

    Lovely idea again Ponders

    Please count me in

And don't worry, I'll favour a British charity*

(*although I'm open to any Wessex based ones too)

    Cheeky git. ;)

I'll have you know I donate to African wildlife, Nepalese children, Water Aid and a few other non-British charities.

Anyway, I hope you get Uruguay when the teams are drawn. <ok>

    Just another nine to go...

    http://www.oddschecker.com/rugby-union/rugby-world-cup

Fiji to beat England on Friday at 25/1 is silly odds, anybody who watches the match on Friday will see that Fiji are more massive than the Massives and have been unbeaten so far in 2015! Silly odds..... However, I think the opener will be a close game as the Fiji team will give everything for the full 80 while England will try to retain some energy for later games so the Handicap betting is probably the way to go .... Fiji +10 @ 7/2 with Skybet seems tempting <ok> that would mean that England have to beat Fiji by more than 9 points otherwise you win £3.50 for every £1
