just read a little bit on the BBC news about remarks made by the court marital board where they criticised his unit, 42 Commando, as a whole, saying it was perceived by many outside as "overly aggressive". WTF are they on about the wa*kers! They are perceived by me, along with the Paras as one of the best fighting forces in the world and I would like to think that the vast majority of the rest of HM Forces are of the same opinion. Aggression is their trademark.
Perhaps it`s a polite way of saying they`re not allowed to kick the **** out of those who rape and torture. Personally I`m all for it but there we go.
I find this absolutely incredible. What do they want, shock troops staffed by Mr Humphries type characters?
Aye, we will keep going down this route and then get shafted by an aggressive army that really doesn't give a ****. I can understand 'responsibility' and 'discipline' but 'overly aggressive' c'mon ffs
If it`s ISIS they`re on about I see no reason why we shouldn`t play by their rules. Anything less is seen as a weakness to be exploited.
I was a right **** when I was in the mob like. Done some twattish things. Got me busted back down to Lance Jack. They train you to be aggressive & then bust you when you go a bit over the top. ****ing arsehole mod.
Going 'a bit over the top' isn't frowned upon marra.... Getting caught is the issue! I'm still a master of 'evasion'
If I remember rightly was the killing not recorded on his helmet cam which was not wiped clean and this eventually led to the court martial. Had he deleted the material recorded then no-one would have known. There may also have more stuff on there that would lead to a Navy Board coming out with their criticism. No fighting force will criticise its own without good reason.
Not sure whether I`m thinking of the right case but wasn`t there something where it was recorded by somebody else?
Unless they need a scapegoat. Personally I think this guy has been really been hard done by. How the hell is one able to judge someone's actions unless one can fully understand the bigger picture, not just of the act but the entire situation on the ground and the circumstances leading up to the incident? We put these lads in harms way and expect them to act like saints!
It's like pvt Lee Clegg isn't it? Hounded out for shooting those Irish bastards. Last I heard of him he was a sergeant in three para.
This case really pisses me off. They spend all that money training us on the art of warfare. Then when the time comes they totally change the rules in favour of the enemy. Get rid of the media. Get rid of ****ing helmet cams. Lets fight on even terms. It will soon be over. Free Marine A.
So far as I'm concerned when you're fighting somebody with a lethal weapon in your hand, there is only one rule - WIN. I'd let the kid out tomorrow if I could.
My son my cousin(ex marine) and me have contributed to his defence fund by buying Free Marine A tee shirts that we wear with pride
