Jock, You won't be the first to take me to task about Cook, and at the moment I doubt you'll be the last however, I respect yours and others opinions in regards to Cook. I have seen him play this season a few times, and many times last season too, to be honest Jock, I've never seen him do anything that strikes terror into defenders, unless he's aiming his studs at some part of their torso, never have I seen defenders quaking in their boots when he has the ball either. All I've ever said about Cook is that he creates no impact for the team. Some said Austin strikes fear into defenders, he's gone, some said Morison's name should be first on team sheet, cos he holds the ball up well, can't score but holds the ball up well, they said similar about Sharp, they're all gone; Warnock was suppose to be our best player last season, he's gone and can't get into Derby team. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sway anyone over, but, there's a reason why the big prem teams gave up chasing Cook and Mowatt, obviously spiralled out of proportion by media, as they do; there's a reason why his stats are not very good at moment, and performances create stats. Cook can play football just like any other player in team, but imo he doesn't bring anything special that creates goals, wins or turns a game around in our favour. Our strikers are being starved of service and our defence needs help from our mids, which neither are getting, and Cook is part of the midfield that ain't doing the job. I know you like Cook, same as some others, I respect that, but sometimes, you have to look through it......
You probably don't wany a no nothing like me to agree with you but I do. We don't have a single player in our squad with the possible exceptions of Dallas and Antenucci who I could realistically see playing at the top level and they would need to improve by 15-20%. You flag our problem in a nutshell. Lots of mediocre talent being poorlyset up and coached and being overseen by a lunatic.

Evening LL. Who was marking Smith? No one, I guess they all expected their goalkeeper to make a routine catch (or punch). No one else to blame other than Silvestri for me, not for the first time this season he has cost us points. Maybe that lipstick injury is affecting him more than we think??
Evening all. Not a great performance last night. A bit worrying that that was our strongest line up. So not good at all. For Saturday, Botaka has to start somewhere. Erwin is due a look in, & maybe even Silvestri could take a break. Certainly at home, we need to create more chances. Looking forward to the Dons game, as we really should be able to create more away from home & will have a decent backing. Anyone from here coming down to this game?
