Thought he was good tonight, especially the first half. Brought something we've not seen for a while to the attack. Showed signs of inexperience on occasion but also plenty of quality. When Rooney is fit does he go straight back in as striker or at 10. With Mata having a poor one tonight it could be worth trying Rooney at 10 with Martial as 9. With Memphis in the picture too he linked up a couple of times with Martial.
For a fee rising to £66.2m if he comes top three in Ballon D'Or, you would hope there would be signs of quality
Difficult one. I'd say Rooney has to come back as striker with Martial on the bench but I can also appreciate what you're saying. Having him as centre forward adds pace and a genuine outlet, neither of which Rooney offers to be frank. It's a hell of a burden to take on though and I suspect he'll remain as sub once Rooney comes back. Having Rooney at ten also means possibly no place for Mata or Herrera. Not that Mata covered himself in glory last night but should lvg go with a Schweinsteiger & Schneiderlin/Carrick CM combo it leaves Herrera out. No doubt though that Schweinsteiger is now, or should be, nailed on at CM with one of the others to partner him, rather than the other way round. To answer your question though; under no circumstances should Fellaini ever be considered centre forward, be it plan A, B, C or ****ing Zeee.
Out of interest, every news outlet is reporting the Martial fee as £58.8million. Now we all know that you have a special inside track to United's transfer dealings but where did you get the figure of £66.2million from? Did you by chance see it when your head was firmly rooted in your a-hole?
Are you all right? You seem very tense today. The Sunday Times reported that the transfer is worth up to €90m when a final special bonus is included. That extra bonus is €10m should Martial be in the final three of the Ballon d'Or during his initial Manchester United contract. The headline figure of €90m converts to a £66m
Yeh its a tough one. As you say he gives a whole new element to the attack, that no other striker (Rooney) offers, but he's very young and very raw. We don't want to burn him out after all. On Mata, I do think van Gaal will take him out in the next game. Hopefully not for Fellaini though. I can see Rooney as ten with Martial as 9.
The balloon d'or clause is reportedly included in the 58m final figure. Only the times are reporting differently.
I'm actually quite tense, trying to get a site exchanged, always a tense time! Must be a bit like every match day for Chelsea at the minute, it could all work out great but could also be a ****ing disaster! Every other media outlet has included the Ballon D'Or payment in the £59million. Very unlike you to seek out the most extreme scenario and then present it as fact.
Come on Stan, play fair. He's already lost all his straws about Chelsea being the most dominant team in the history of forever, leave him this one to cling to at least. After all it was a fee that FFP champions Chelsea were willing to pay before Martial and Monaco snubbed them for us, so it can't be that high, surely?
So many players snubbed Chelsea this summer that it's easy to forget who they all were. They must have all realised that Mourinho was going into his third season...
Top 20 to £58m (80m euros), top 3 £66.2m (90m euros) http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/columnists/kay/article4548088.ece
I feel daft asking this but, are you really this ****ing sad? I find it difficult to believe anyone could be.
it rise to that figure only if he is gonna be that good .. so is a win-win situation for us he can never be worst than Torres anyway who costed more
he should start as a ST because : 1- he need to develop and learn faster by playing more 2- we have no one else, aside from Rooney or Fellaini and both showed they can't play there .. Rooney looked lost as upfront Striker and Fellaini is good as plan B when plan A don't work
At least they managed to get the spanish #unitedreject. Unfortunately he hadn't been able to get the team out of the pickle
