Quite. If he was that loyal you wouldn't have had him in the first place.

It's a shame to see such a talent leave the club - our front line could really do with his pace and movement.

Should have handled his move away a lot better but the club were just as bad. Just a shame we spent the bulk of the proceeds on a striker who doesn't naturally suit our best creative players.

I seem to remember you wanting that useless lump Balotelli to be given a chance up top with a partner so Surley this obviously talented lump should get that same grace?

Indeed but that is to be ignored so that we can vent out anger and call for blood facts have no place here leave them at the door and be that single minded football fan who possesses an infuriating single minded completely biased opinion when it come to their club.

A striker who doesn't suit your creative players? What does that mean?

He's a striker that actually scores goals like, there's a bonus

I share the views of most; I don't want to see any talent leave but his attitude stank.

About talent, there's no doubt he has some....and his pace and trickery is a handful. However, in my view, he still has no end product. Missed another great chance yesterday. His decision making is questionable. Perhaps this will come with experience and if so, he'll be well worth £50m. If not, he's just another overpriced english enigma. <ok>

There was justification for fans feeling the way they did about Owen and Torres leaving but Sterling doesn't fall into the same category for me at least. Plus I don't ever wish bad on anybody. Remember the chants Speed got from Everton fans and then what happened to him? Who knows whether the abuse he got from the fans played even a small part in the despair that made him do what he did. I'd be ashamed if I'd been a fan chanting abuse at him. I've never done it and never will.

  10. Players will always get stick, its part of being a professional footballer. I'm not saying its right or wrong, I certainly wouldn't join in either though.

TBH, I'm not quite sure what this response as to do with the comment I made <ok>

You mentioned that he was a kid and he was being mislead by a twat of a agent too. I just pointed out that neither excuse should result in him putting in piss poor effort on the pitch. Being a young lad should make him eager to play football as best he can. Having a **** agent shouldn't alter what he does on the pitch either.

Neither am I - your quote wasn't supposed to be in there <laugh>

Him being a kid and led by his agent was what I see as reasons to cutting him some slack in his decision making about leaving not about his performances. I already said he wasn't performing well for us and I didn't put that down to either of those reasons.

  13. Him not performing (ie sulking) because he wants a move puts him in the same box as Torres and Mascherano (although the latter as since shown his love for this club)

If he'd given half as much to the club performance wise, I could go along with that but he's not fit to tie Torres [or Mascherano] boot laces ...... he may develop better at city, who knows , I won't be watching <laugh>

  15. Agree that he's not fit to lace Torres or Mascherano's boots but I don't think the level of performance they are capable of comes into it. The fact that there is a clear decline in performance is all that is needed. I have no time for players that refuse to put the effort in in a sulk to get their own way. You're an adult (and Sterling was an adult despite everyone calling him a kid) so act like it.

Had to go and we got good money.

Its down to the club and Rodgers to make us a team where top players want to be.

If a player who's been with us for several years, giving everything, obvious world class performer but no medals to show for it, decides it's time to move on to meet their ambition then I can go along with that. Sterling had barely started on his senior career and maybe it's because of my age that I see him as a kid, so his sulking is sort of understandable [not excusable] because of his lack of experience. Not sure how sulking came into the argument tbh <laugh>

  18. I can understand players wanting to move on, nor am I too bothered by players using us as a stepping stone (obviously, I'd prefer us to be the final stone). I never had an issue with Suarez wanting to move on, he made it perfectly clear when he arrived that he wanted to joined Barca or Real and we provided a platform for him to perform on. What I don't like is the lack of respect players show towards clubs. If you want to move fine, but do it in the right way. Not putting effort in on the pitch just makes you a **** in my eyes.

I did moan about us signing Lovren because he did that to saints too btw, I'm not just talking about at Liverpool.

I agree with all of that. I know how fair and balanced you are in terms of - if you've got a stance on something it doesn't alter merely because it's a Liverpool player. <ok>
