It's not the loss that was overdue. It's the tactics and the off pitch circus which is just about to go into overdrive again.
Wonder if Pearson going was known to Rosler and players earlier today and reflected on pitch? No one replacing him.
May as well give you my match report. Will copy & paste a chunk from the Brentford match! This is the bit from the Brentford match (in blue), and it's applied to every home game this season. We've been found out. Before I mention individual performances, I must point out a couple of ever-present failings we have. The first is that our midfielders never come back into defence to pick up the ball to start an attack. Opposition teams capitalise on this by getting 2-3 players in between our defence & midfield. End result is that we pass along the back until someone gets pressured, whereupon they either hump it up the field, or pass to the keeper to attempt to hump it up the field. Same result every time - opposition gets the ball & come at us again. The second failing is that we fail to do exactly this to the opposition. Today was a case in point, and we never convincingly pressed once in the first hour. Basics. Individual performances: Silvestri - actually had one very commanding catch today, but sadly later had a flap that caused the goal. He even threw the ball out a few times to get things moving, which surprsied me immensely. Also surprised Murphy at one point, who immediately lost he ball! Berardi - solid, industrious, and one of our better players. Had a belting shot with his left from outside the box which went close. Bamba - not on his game at all at the moment. I'll say no more in case he comes looking for me. He's a big lad! Cooper - another excellent performance. We'd have struggled without him. Pity he had to cover Bamba's arse so much. Taylor - solid in defence. Industrious in midfield & a few sparks of creativity from him. Put in the best cross of the match & everyone failed to act on it. Cook - not the most convincing left winger I've seen, but was as good as Dallas, if not better. Showed his inexperience when he shot into the box with a defender trailing behind him. If he had cut across the defender, it was a nailed on penalty, but he didn't & allowed the defender to get a boot in. Also had 3 (wayward) shots - way more than anyone else! Adayemi - seemed to play much better with Murphy alongside him. Dependable, but short of his best ever performances. Murphy - should be first name down on the team sheet if he continues with performances like these. Still not quite vintage Murphy, but we've got no-one better in this role. Dallas - off the boil. Started on the right, then moved to the left. Didn't make any difference. Deserved to be subbed. Wood - isolated, so I'll be more forgiving with him than all the rest. Still worry that he's got a bit of a pointy head when it comes to heading the ball. Antenucci - who?. Byram (sub) - was more like his old self when he came on today. Not seen a replay of the penalty claim, but looked nailed on to me. Won more headers in the short time he was on than the rest of the team! Mowatt(sub) - Quiet. One great pass through the middle to Wood, whose shot was deflected & trickled by. Apart from that, not sure why he was playing. Corners actually got past the first defender tonight! The little baztard of a ref must get a mention here. I've seen a few bad 'uns, & this one was right up there. We never got any decisions that were worthwhile & he seemed to ignore Ipswich tackles that were studs up, 2 footed etc. Even stood beside our players as they got pulled to the ground without acting. Booked Cook for gettng fouled! I would happily have died of exhaustion kicking 7 bells out of him. I must also say that I'm very disappointed in Mick McCarthy. I cannot believe he allowed his team to go down clutching bits of their untouched bodies like they'd been shot. Completely took the pish out of the ref, & he failed to notice how each of these injured players (and there were quite a few!) could be dead one minute & doing a Usain Bolt impersonation as soon as they'd got their free kick. Cheating, no other word for it.
While I agree Roslers job may be getting close to line, I don't think we need to panic just yet, it's still early. While everyone points the finger at Silvestri, who was suppose to be marking Tommy Smith? I say bring back Bellusci, I don't think Wood is going to be the striker Rosler reckons he is, and bring back Bianchi when he's fully fit. It's just possible Pearson may have taken on more than he could handle, we don't know, but what he did while here was beneficial to club.
As Norman said, you were only one Cellino diva hissy fit away from it all going pete tong and the moment has arrived!
Well that was pretty much dire. I'll never knock Redfearn again after watching that ****e. Agree with jocks assessment of player performances. With Pearson gone the writing is on the wall For Rosler, heavy metal football my arse. The poor summer recruitment starting to show though now, no pace no power no width. I'm gonna use my last £5 off and then probably calling it quits yet again. Not wasting my hard earned cash to watch us playing like the away side. Very dissapointed to say the least
Mike you should be aware of this, you're looking nailed on for the SBA for quoting the € sell back price instead of the buying rate not just once but twice. http://www.not606.com/threads/soppiest-bollocks-september-nominations.309988/#post-8326227
Might not be our best ever, but if we blinded him & amputated his legs, he'd probably be Millwall's best ever!
You're getting good at those type of questions Jock..... Like you yourself said Jock, Bamba's off his game, Bamba has better games with Bellusci besides him. Bellusci and Cooper work well together too, so for me, the common denominator would be Bellusci; it's a case of who needs replacing due to under par performances. I don't think Bamba's suited as captain and it seems to be weighing him down. Bamba is 31, not old but getting on in football terms, he has 3 young'ns playing beside him so it's more likely he'll look the slowest. I know I keep saying it, and will till it's fixed, our problems lay in midfield, don't help in defence and can't feed our strikers. Other teams mids seem to be doing what we ain't. Replace some of our mids and we'll probably improve, just like what happened with Warnock and Taylor. Jock, don't ask who with......
I'd be happy for Bellusci to play alongside Cooper. He does seem to be more disciplined & responsible beside him. Agree Bmba is very disappointing as a captain. Same as Austin was. Just because they're scary doesn't mean they'll be good captains. Btw, not so sure you can call Berardi a young 'un - he's 27! I'm not so sure that our problem in midfield lies in the calibre of player. I think it may be organisational / tactical, and I would lay this at the Hed Coach's door to fix. I won't repeat myself, but I detailed the main problem I see in my last 2 match reports. .
Speaking of captains, this is the sort of thing I expect .... Liam Cooper @LiamCooper__ 32m32 minutes ago Very frustrating night! They came and made it ugly. Got to move on now and show some bollocks! Thanks you everyone who turned out.. #MOT
Yes I do he is certainly our best shot stopper the rest will come with more experience .De Ghea was awful for a while look at him now and Gordon Banks always played badly at ER but that didn't make him a bad goalkeeper
Good morning Steve did I say which one I was referring too NO and I still think that this as a long way to go as Euro has many problems they need a weak euro as this makes Mercedes and Audi VW and BMW even cheaper but hane they passed the price on please let me know
He has played over 50 games for you now - how many does he have to play to get more experience? 100, 150, 200? After 50 games he still cannot catch or kick a football
There are numerous posts in the Brentford matchday thread you need to address. Many people are owed an apology....
I fecking hate it when wallies can see what is going on from 200 miles away and some who claim to understand the game and be leeds are so cluelless.
