I really do hope he farts in front of the queen during one of these 'Privy Council' meetings. And then looks at Cameron and holds his nose.
I am the middle. Granted, I've lived overseas so long I don't vote in the UK, but I wouldn't vote labour with him in charge. Corbyn in UK is like Trump in the US, a guarantee to make me want to vote for whoever is most likely to keep them out. Its disrespectful to the dead, but honestly, we have a stupid national anthem. There are more (and better things) to be proud of than a parasitic family.
We should have a traditional, old English song as our anthem, such as One Wheel On My Wagon, or Aggado. Or the theme from Shaft.
Now I think the royal family turns over more revenue via tourism and such to warrant its place, especially now it has been streamlined and the minors pushed aside. They start in a position of privilege, but many lords and historical land owners in this country do also.
My opinion would be let them keep calling themselves queen/Prince (free country they can take any title they want). Just remove any official privileges, funding and responsibility. Let them keep what they privately own now. Return crown estates to the people (who are already legally the owners). Tourists will still come even if queen holds no special powers. Her powers are very limited today and people still come. No reason to fund royals. Their very position today gives them a leg up on everyone else. Just by being born in that family they would have doors open to them that would be shut to us.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-greets-David-Cameron-time-Labour-leader.html love reading the Mail at the moment. Like the red tops in the 70's after The Pistols swore at Bill Grundy. Hysterical overkill. Love the irony of Paul Dacre leading this witchhunt at the mail, especially the 'disrespect' to WWII veterans. His dad was a consciencious objector in WWII. Nothing wrong with that - very principled. Very hypocritical though.
I understand, not trying to change your view on them. Just giving my 2p worth. I am all for the royal family, the royals have had not power or control for many, many years. But I'm sure if a vote was held to decide I they were retained then I would hazard a guess that the vote would be for keeping the current system.
I've said this before, you don't need the lukewarm immigrant bodies in the palace to draw the tourists, the palace would do just fine without that infestation of parasites
What makes me laugh PJ is that the Royals despise you. You are unwashed and uncultured ect. You are to them as **** is to your shoe. yet you defend them
I remember when Windsor Palace burned down in '92. Prince Andrew literally went on television and said "Tonight the Queen is homeless"...
The crown estate would go to the royals if we got rid of them, not back into public hands. This was clarified in the House of Commons a few years ago. They are paid 15% of the money generated by the crown estate with the rest going to the public purse. So they cost far less to keep than we earn just from the crown estate. On top of that they generate a lot of money for tourism. The argument about whether people would visit palaces etc without the royals ignores the impact of individual royal occasions and the amount of money it is possible to generate from them. The royal wedding provided a £2billion boost to tourism and created an additional 4 million visitors to the country. That is an asset worth keeping hold of and using. There is then the ambassadorial work they do, the charity work, serving in the armed forces etc... They act as a symbol of Britishness. Not things everyone will place value on but others do. The hassle, cost etc... of trying to remove them just wouldn't be worth it.
