I tihnk there is a bit of the guilty until proven innocent thing going on, for years accusations were not taken seriously, now it's the opposite.

What makes this case different than the above is she lied about her sex. In the eyes of the law that's not supposed to make a difference. Sex, like hair colour or penis length is just a metric.
I think what got this woman arrested when the ginger or 8inch willy guy wouldn't have is "ew homosexuality" mentality. Just a theory. Wasn't there to witness, but that's my suspicion.
