Someone on here was mentioning Papillon and got me thinking of some of the great films that Dustin Hoffman has done over the years. For me Midnight Cowboy is my favourite. Rizzo Razzo (or was it Razzo Rizzo) is one of the finest depictions of a no-good ruffian crook with fantastic street know-how. The music is fantastic as well and the ending is very tearful. He has done some guff like all others but generally I find to be very good to watch. His performance in Sleepers as the useless lawyer was a mini classic. Sleepers is a fantastic film with Bobby DeNiro in it as well.
I loved Sleepers, such a great film. It was sad to see legends like De Niro and Hoffman in the total crap that is Meet The Parents/Fockers but I suppose they will always be remembered for their quality films than that ****e.
It was me that mentioned Papillon, so I want half the credit of this thread, depending on how it goes obviously.
The Graduate and Rainman One I love which will probably be pooh-poohed because it shows my sensitive and emotional side is Kramer V Kramer. The little boy in that deserved an oscar for his perfomance.
You're always showing your emotional side ER. Aren't you a big fan of Babe and Babe 2: Pig in the City?
Underrated film IMO. Cuba Gooding Jr, Kevin Spacey and Rene Russo? If I remember correctly. Rainman was very good as well, just seen a film called Stranger than Fiction. Although Will Ferrell is the main actor, Hoffman is good in that as well (it's not an out and out comedy).
