Apparently we have offered 1m for clingan, thats unbelievable almost, im stuck for words... http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/co...ing-1m-bid-for-sammy-clingan-92746-29074615/? I do really doubt this is true by the way but i thought i'd post it anyway
If we are offering money, then we must be very serious about him, I would suggest the £300,000 mark will be nearer to where Bates will want to go, so unless they drop the price, the deal will not happen.
i heard something similar cosmic but you dont know whats true with all the media just contradicting themselves and obviously clubs do not release that sort of information its all guesses really
It does just say that we're planning a £1m bid, which I can believe if they were reportedly asking for £900k. It could be £8-900k up front with add-ons taking it to £1m.
another link, again from a coventry site but it also claims we are putting in a 1m bid, still doubt its that true http://www.coventrycity-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/leeds_to_bid_1m_for_clingan_687417/index.shtml?
isn't he in his last year of contract and coventry are skint as a mo fo so picking him up on the cheap might be viable
Coventry fans are all saying they think he's worth about £3m minimum. So £1m might end up being pretty cheap.
maybe i havnt heard enough about him, everyone is saying he is a good player i just havnt seen it, if we do get him i will open p my mind but until then im still not sure its the best move
How is he a journeyman. He's 27 and has had 3 clubs. That's far less than a "journeyman" would have. Who would you sign for the same money that is better?
Nottingham Forest, Norwich and Coventry. So a proven Championship level player who has so far left clubs by his own choice when they wanted to keep him.
