We have a lot of shellshocked bedwetters, that never believe anything that comes out of the Club, they have taken a hell of a beating recently, they trust no one, except what they read in the Red Tops of course.
I think it's a case of both or none at all. I'm about 50/50 that they'll sign an extension. They like it at Saints a whole bloody lot and they tend to do what they want rather than what is expected of them.
This is just not the right time for him to leave Saints for the Dutch job. You can just feel that. It would be like going from 100mph to 20mph. Dutch won't even have a tournament game for almost three years, he'll never leave with that lead-in, plus loads of old guard to get out of that team, which the Dutch FA will be at loggerheads with him about if they're anything like the English FA. Koeman will go at a point when there is a new era starting. Is not quite right yet imo. Will be one or two managers before him. He'll go next club level up before national team, as national team is a step back from where he's going at club level.
The difference between a manager and a player is that we won't be sweating on losing a fortune if he gets into his last year. Although you'd get a bit of compo if he broke his contract, we'd rather keep him for another year than get the 2 million we got for losing Mauricio. Have to say again, haven't we had good managers under the Leihberr regime.
