The City boss revealed he had a permanent signing lined up on deadline day only for it to fall through at the last minute.

“We’d agreed a fee, agreed a deal with the player, did the medical but unfortunately we couldn’t quite get it over the line,” Cotterill said. “It may still happen, but not as a loan, it could be in January.”

Was thinking Kermorgant but it can't be, as he's just signed a new deal which makes him signing in the future unlikely.

Kermorgant does make sense on one hand - Bournemouth's move for Grabban did not happen

Just in case anyone is noticing, January might be too late. All this positive nonsense such as "we just missed out on a signing" and "we played well enough to win" doesn't exactly inspire confidence. When are we going to hear positives that are actually what is advertised on the tin?

I agree Mike, bit more urgency required on the signing front. Surely there must be strikers, defenders and creative midfield players we could sign from France, Spain, Portugal, Germany and the whole of Scandinavia that are within budget. Shows that we are not up to scratch with the overseas markets despite Kodjia. Other clubs appear to be able to pick up players while we are inactive.

Its a lack of professionalism and has been rife throughout the club for many a year, at all levels. We struggle to get the basics right when with a bit of thought, problems need not arise. It happens so many times you have to say its just pure arrogance,
ignorance or stupidity, take your pick!
