As I'm off to the ressies tomorrow and at work during the day Monday Tuesday there's not long for me to discuss this massively important game.
We've got a good record down there, I think we'll do em. Though if we did get beat it may force Brucey/Allams into getting stuck into the loan market and sign a couple of players with some real grit.

We've lacked a leader since Ash. Much as Dawson is a decent captain there isnt that leader bollocking people and geeing them up.
I've watched BHA's goal and i still say Mcgregor was piss poor again. I'm almost tempted to drop him, in fact **** it get Jak in goal.

Elmo and Dave. Its not working. Elmo doesnt like coming inside does he. He's an out and out down the wing man. I really dont know what Brucey is going to do to sort this. I'd like to see them swop over but he seems loathe to do it. Did he reckon on Elmo going so bought Dave?

    Dawson and Davies pick themsen.

Robo is a strange one. Scratching my head about him being dropped, I really am.

Its frustrating not seeing a full game but i cant understand subbing Meyler after 30 mins.
There's question marks over everyone apart from Dawson Davies and Diame.

I've no idea what to do about the forwards. Akpom's been poor, apparently he's not a lone front man but i dont see how sticking a puff like Hernandez alongside him will help.

Should we go back to 3 at the back and drop Dave? Surely we can name a 4-4-2 and get a result against anyone in this league?

    Jak

    Elmo Dawson Davies Robertson

    Dave Hudd Diame Aluko

    Akpom Hernandez

    3-5-2

    Jak
    Dawson Bruce Davies
    Elmo Robertson
    Meyler Hudd Diame
    Hernandez Akpom

The most important thing is starting off fast not slow slow slow. Get into the game and get them on the back foot. Scrappy win 1-0 for us.

    Discuss away...

Meyler hasn't been himself for a while now, he's handy at this level when he's on form but he's been so inconsistent, he's nothing like he was in our promotion season. I'm not surprised Brucey hauled him off at Brighton.

We aren't going to beat Cardiff, given our performances in the last few weeks and taking yesterday into account, I just can't see it. We just don't look confident attacking and other teams know this and get at us. That's the first time we've drawn a blank this season, let's hope we can get back to at least scoring goals again.

A nice simple 4-4-2, with Huddlestone in place of Meyler, Akpom and Hernandez up front.

    2-1 Cardiff.

As neither of our full backs are brilliant defensively and we currently generate the attacking threat of a damp flannel, switching to 3-5-2 would seem like a sensible move but there's little sign of it being considered.

We haven't got anyone capable of playing as a lone striker, so I'll be happy with anyone up front as long as there's two of them.

Well done to the 300 hardy souls who are travelling all that way to potentially endure the same **** as the last two always, I'm only venturing as far as the KC.

Yes very well done to the 300 going, regarding Myler I think he has done quite well apart from Saturday, the two up front don't hold the ball up well enough for me I still think we are missing a big strong forward. For me all the forwards we have are the type who play off a forward, Akpom is still a young kid so will be inconsistent. We've got excellent midfield players but the balance isn't right, I would mind seeing Dave on one wing and Elmo on the other. Has for the score line I am going to be optimistic and go for 2.1 to us but we have got to play a lot better than Saturday in fact a lot better than any of our away games this season

Pace, passion, and at least some attacking intent please.

We're wasting what we have otherwise.

I don't think we have the strikers that are going to win us automatic promotion. We have set up so negatively recently, we worry about the opposition far too much. It would be nice to go to Cardiff and just give it a real go. We need to go with two forwards, tell Robertson and Moses to bomb forward and overlap the wingers and put them on the back foot.

Could Elmo play as a forward? he has pace, aerial strength decent finishing. I honestly don't know why we bought Odubajo (No offence Dave) when we had Taylor as cover and Elmo. That money could have been better spent on a proven CF.

Yep plus Lenihan too. They must have thought Elmo was going.
Elmo needs to drive forward from RB. Lung busting runs his trademark. Coming inside he looks lost.

With his heading ability and pace you would think he would be worth a shot up front. Taylor looked awful when I saw him at the back a few weeks ago but I suppose it's early days with his fitness

Our recruitment policy this Summer has been dreadful. I'm not blaming anyone but it doesn't seem to have been well planned. Sell then buy, how did we end up buying Odubajo with no deal lined up for Elmo? Now we have both it's created an issue fitting them both in the team. Similar with other positions on the pitch.

I agree, however I also agree with Chazz that McGregor was once again at fault on Saturday. How many points does that take it to that he's already cost us with just six games gone?!

We're seriously floundering about with those two as our only selections for keeper. I strongly and firmly believe that whoever made the final decision that we would be ok to go with those two needs a serious shafting, it will cost us, it IS costing us, and the defence cannot have any confidence whatsoever in either of them, futhermore that lack of confidence could quite easily spread throughout the team.

I admire the optimism of Polly but with clowns like McGregor in the team we will continue to be a busted flush.

So, in summary, all we need to get a win on Tuesday night is a new commanding confident keeper and some ****er who can sort out a proper formation that our midfield can comfortably operate in, failing that I'd say we're pretty much ****ed, again.

I know McG is prone to errors but to blame him for the goal is tough, he parried a shot & the defence didn't clear it.

Fair comment, but his gaffes are happening far too often, and due to not getting in Bentley or some other suitable keeper during the window he's in an undroppable situation, and that's not good for either us or him.

Did anybody see Neuer do the exact same thing for Germany (against the Jocks) that Jak did for us against Accrington? Must be a common fault with goalkeepers. Given the choice you've got to go with McGregor, but looking at Brucey's history, one thing he is good spotting when a keeper needs replacing. He did it pretty sharpish with Amos (and Jak the first time).

    Hopefully a more attacking 4-4-2...
    -------------------McGregor
    Odubajo Dawson Davies Robertson/Clucas
    Elmohammady Huddlestone Diame Aluko
    --------------Akpom Hernandez

    Or switch to a 3-5-2...
    -------------------McGregor
    -------Dawson Bruce/Maguire Davies
    Elmohammady---------------------Robertson
    --------Meyler Huddlestone Diame
    -------------Akpom Hernandez
