    Brown Panther is an absolute gem of an animal and one of the most beautiful specimens you will ever see on a racetrack. Heartbreaking for all concerned and whatever you say about him Michael Owen adored him. R.I.P old warrior <peacedove>

    The Internet really does showcase some of humanity at its worst Beef.

    People just seem incapable of putting their feelings to one side at times like this. Makes me sick some of the things I see on Twitter.

    There was a very good covering of grass. There always is at Longchamp. I do not think they ever cut it short.

    I actually think that Sunday’s going may have been pretty false. As I said after the first race – the sprint run on the straight right-to-left course – the runners had kicked large divots out of the top of the turf suggesting that the rain had not softened the ground but loosened the top few inches. After each of the subsequent races on the round courses, the peasants were kept busy prodding the divots back into the turf.
