No idea. I attributed our much slower tempo in the second half of '13/'14 to fatigue, but that shouldn't be a problem at the moment.
Jeeze guys. A good point away against a classic grotty Pulus team. It's fine. At home, yes, three points please, but that was fine away, and we were the only team likely to win. It was a ballache to watch, but that's 100% what Pulis does. I'd be a LOT more pissed off as a WBA fan than a Saints fan tonight.
A lot of good sense from you this early morning. Your Lallana post was also spot on. Doesn't improve us a jot.
I'm normally in this camp, however having sat through that, it wasn't a "good" point, it was two easy extra points dropped. They were really really bad and we were very poor too. Our passing stopped and we just seemed incapable if making the right pass or the right decision. No matter how much they were a typical Pulis side, we can't blame Pulis for us being poor. Virgil and Vic apart.
Not pissed off, more "really, really disappointed" Tom. WBA were very poor and it wasn't a case of them being typically well drilled by Pulis but us in the second half particularly not being able to complete some very simple passes and crosses when we had the opportunity. I am very close to the point of just giving up on Pelle. I thought his attitude yesterday sucked. He spent so much time just walking about yesterday and turning his back on play to moan at a team mate. There was a ten minute spell in the second half where he actually was looking to make a run and the ball wasn't played to him (Fonte in particular) but outside of that he offered little in terms of showing and effort. There was of course the "flick" contributions too. I wouldn't be surprised if he created a division soon in the team.
I was unsure if he was what we wanted DL, however I did want an alternative to Pelle, as an option at least. You went yesterday, where were you sat? We were 6 rows from the back and directly behind the goal. Good view.
Not that its our style but there's always the Jan window. If were lower mid table I could see us going for more firepower.
I think we have got alternatives to Pelle in any combination of Long, Rodriguez, Mane and Jaunmi. However, for whatever reason, Ron never wants to try anything that doesn't involve Pelle.
We were sat a dozen rows from the front, right edge penalty box. Crap view but I guess it didn't make a lot of difference to what was dished up mate. If you could see everything developing I bet you are more depressed by that then me. Plus I now only live 18 miles north
Yeah this is the bit that concerns me, and nobody ends up liking the teacher's pet in life, particularly when they don't deserve it. FLTs point about potential divisions is a good one.
Yes i am. Think Austin would have been a really good source of goals for us this season. Pelle is a fans favourite but im just about in FLT's camp when it comes to Pelle, he has too many games when he should have done much much more. Anyway we have what we have and hopefully next game he will tear the Man Utd defence apart and lead us to a great win - yeah right !
