Great first half. Dropped off after halftime. Overall a good showing and unlucky not to get something. A **** loads of positives.
M'Vila completely at fault for that goal, doesn't get on top of Mason then just lets Mason run away from him, lazy. Well taken by the lad though.
Unlucky, lads. You were the better team in the first half and should've been ahead. Ran out of steam in the second half a bit and probably should've made your subs a little earlier. Toivenen went from being influential to completely disappearing, as his energy ran out. If Defoe keeps getting chances like that, then he'll get you goals. You look far more solid now than you did a few weeks ago and the signings look very decent. Another bad result, but some encouraging signs. Good luck for the rest of the season, barring your trip to WHL, obviously.
We didn't deserve to lose that. A bucketload of positives to be taken though. I think we're going to be fine.
Am upbeat too, we got beat because of match fitness/shapness today. The side looks much much better now and very balanced. We will score goals and have a midfield who can be creative.
Despite the result which is a sickener after that performance, we now look like a team. I thought we looked fragmented when the subs were made but up until that point, we looked solid and together. Get more match fitness into Borini, Lens & Ola and we will get results. We were sharp in the first half and could easily have gone in two up, fitness levels showed in the second half and i thought Catts offered very little when he came on. I was looking for him to take control but he never and gave possession up to easily. Both full backs still remain a worry, Townsend tore PVA a new arsehole when he came on. Jones decent going forward like PVA but not offering much resistance in defence. Overall very encouraging though.
You were bang average. How much has that team cost you? Wasteful up front and your defence were all over the shop. That's the truth. Leicester and Norwich were by far a better outfit than you lot.
