we are so slow, deliberate and monotonous...we take 5 touches instead of 2, 4 touches instead of 1 and it is allowing sunderland to get sorted in behind the ball

but the biggest problem is that this is boring me stupid

How did Walker balls that up? Just hit it!
Would've been completely undeserved, but he should've buried that.

Our players aren't allowed to shoot in the box?

This is becoming so frustrating. Plan A is to try to play through them but that's failing so there's no plan B. We need width. I can't fathom why Davies is playing instead of Rose. We need our fullbacks bombing down the wings to encourage Kane and Chadli to get in the box. All this tippy happy stuff is easy to defend against. It's dull and uninventive.

That was one of the best halves of PL football I've seen this season albeit completely lacking any sort of intelligence from either side. It had the openness you'd expect from a Sunday league game.

0-0 HT. Awful from us - there's no other word to describe it.

0-0 HT. Rubbish first half and we're fairly lucky to be going in level at the break.
We look disorganised and fractured. Our shape's poor and we've got no width.
Our passing's been ok in most places, but absolutely awful in the last third.

Defoe seems to have the measure of our centre-halves and he's making blindside runs easily.
Dropping in behind Alderweireld and then making clear runs through the gap.
Very poor defending and it needs to be addressed at half-time.

  10. It's a sad indictment on the way this game is going that the best thing that a Spurs fan can say about that first half is that we've come in at 0-0.

    Dreadful stuff, and desperate times!

Poor first half, final ball just not hapening for us at the moment.

Not fun to see Kaboul and Defoe playing so well either. Both sides could've had penalties too but the ref bottled them.

Alli's been a one man showboat pulling off some great skills and Son looks comfortable in the side already which is good to see but we need to just nail that final ball.

    really impressed with
only Dier is is showing those qualities

this has been a disgraceful half of football from us
Lloris ... poor distribution and has caused confusion a couple of times by needlessly rushing out ... 5 out of 10
Davies ... started well but passing was piss poor at times ... 6 out of 10
Vertongen + Alderwield... have been run ragged by defoe but have done their jobs ... 6 out of 10
Walker ... played well but should have shot instead of passing to Son ... 7 out of 10
Mason ... done ok and has worked hard ... 6 out of 10
Dier ... best player that half doing a lot of dirty work in front of back 4 ... 8 out of 10
Chadli... actually forgot he was playing ... 2 out of 10
Ali ... started off brightly ... faded out ... 6 out of 10
Son ... trying too hard ... 5 out of 10
    Kane ... ditto ... 5 out of 10

    team ... 4 out of 10

I think a little patience is needed we are trying to find a way through a packed Sunderland defence and have very nearly opened it a couple of times. MP will earn his money when he addresses the problems at half time and widens our forward play a little. Interesting to see what happens. Kaboul and Defoe both running their socks off, what else would you expect.

I hope you're right but something tells me, no width will be introduced and we'll spend the next 45 mins asking why not.

We should have had a pen at the start. The test of whether it's a pen is whether Liverpool or ManU would have been given it and I don't see any way they would not have. Sunderland down early on, then the game is vastly different.
