    Would take him back at the drop of a hat, we are desperate for the type of creativity he used to produce. He has only ever performed when given a run and stays fit - something which is unlikely where he is at the moment.

    I said possibly, because I'm not sure how good he is now. He has been hampered by injuries and playing at Liverpool, so hard to judge. He would get some games at Saints, but, unless he regained form (and he has shown flashes of it), would he be a starter every time? Gave us a nasty taste having him leave us, but I'm willing to bet that if he returned and played well, the fans would eventually welcome him back because we would feel vindicated. However, there is no chance that he would want to return or, indeed, that Les Reed would want him back.

    I tend to agree. I also think the better players we sell from our academy play, the better our academy is viewed leading to a higher quality intake and ultimately a better team or higher price when selling on. Surely that is in the interest of the long term of the club.

    What both of you say above is true.

    Neither statement alters the fact though that he was a knob of the highest order in getting his move and for that behaviour I don't like him. The badge kissing twat.
