After selling him we certainly needed a striker.

2. I may well have said we needed a CB in May. Come the end of august we seem yo be doing very well in that department and the need has diminished. Unless someone of the very highest quality became available. We pursued that option to a dead end.

UIR changes his opinions so often its hard to remember what his stance is on certain subjects.

How can anyone that understands football change their mind over about 3 games at the start of August on whether you need a new CB?

 

There was a whole pre season for one thing and a CB was never a priority to begin with. Somewhere in the summer transfer discussions I even posted about how we have a good number of options at centre back and needed to lose one or two (Evans being the preferred choice). The prospect of signing Ramos changed things mind. He's one of those in the category stated earlier.

And I rarely change my mind. My views are consistent however, I am always willing to reasses as time passes. Sometimes things change.

Pre-season is a worthless indicator of a squad's strength. You might as well say the new fifa came out and decided based on the ratings that Man Utd didn't need a new centre back.

let's just agree to disagree on the definition of 'good', but what is good is to win this game by two goals at home, however drab and poor the opposition. I just think a 'good' team would have racked a biblical score up yesterday. That said, you won 3-0 last season and the difference between the two sides was less. So I won't wish you good luck for the rest of the season, but I do accept that you'll need a damn sight less luck than we'll need this term.

 

As someone who admits readily to all those faults on our team, and has done even before yesterday's beating by one-step-above-average team, I'm quite bemused by a United poster talking about 'banning people'. I was banned from your board for two years for pointing out that Rio Ferdinand was banned for breaking the same law as Suarez. Touchy, eh? And a trite cant, too.
