Fine Elland mate, bit pissed off with the performance and Roslers team. Murphy and Ant should be starting at home.
And why is every player we sign injured ? we should sack the club doctor as he don't know how to do a medical.
I took some notice. But when you are wrong you are wrong... Don't shoot the messenger. You won't find anyone who went to the game have anything positive to say... Even if wj tried to stick make up on this one it would still be a stinker.
Piss poor mate, but most of the team were piss poor. Rosler to negative as well and it seems he can't take criticism. He has to get both Murphy and Ant into the starting line up for Tuesday. After today I'm not sure I can be bothered going though.
There will be bad as well as good . We were excellent against Derby. Scum and victimpool had 500 m worth available and the game was dire. One of the worst first halves I've ever watched. They have supposedly top quality players as opposed to what's in our division
Sorry mate both scum and victim pool are in decline and playing on their history. The money they have wasted is another criminal and failed attempt to buy success. But Brenda is hopeless and Van Girl is just taking the red ****e for a huge pay off before retiring.
I won't be going again till a Brum. By the time we had a bite to eat and a couple of drinks it was £100 down the tubes... Just like last year and the year before nothing to enjoy.
According to you we would have 3 points after7 games so we have done much better than you predicted or am I missing somethingif we win on Tuesday and after watching Ipswich against Reading a team you said was useless I believe along with TC I am predicting a home win that will mean 11 points in 7 games over 46 games =72 points which we would mean play offs at the very lease so whats your gripe now
Poor showing by the team today. Perked up significantly when Murphy came on, and to a lesser extent, Antenucci. Before I mention individual performances, I must point out a couple of ever-present failings we have. The first is that our midfielders never come back into defence to pick up the ball to start an attack. Opposition teams capitalise on this by getting 2-3 players in between our defence & midfield. End result is that we pass along the back until someone gets pressured, whereupon they either hump it up the field, or pass to the keeper to attempt to hump it up the field. Same result every time - opposition gets the ball & come at us again. The second failing is that we fail to do exactly this to the opposition. Today was a case in point, and we never convincingly pressed once in the first hour. Basics. Individual performances: Silvestri - not one of his better days, to put it mildly, and bear in mind I'm one of his biggest fans. Same old failings - poor distribution, and failing to come for the ball. Berardi - industrious, and one of our better players, but still under par by his normal standards. Bamba - not sure if I'm making this up or not, but he almost seemed to be playing a sweeper role, hanging back as the last line of defence & encouraging Cooper to do all the hard work. I echo Glory's comment about him not being a captain - I was shouting the very same thing at him, and on a number of occasions. Very tame performance overall (I'm being kind here). Cooper - I do wonder how we would have coped without him. Not his best ever performance, but still very good. Someone had to be! Taylor - actually, he was another Cooper, if you like. Not at his best, but glad he was there. Cook - I honestly believe he is stifled when asked to play the DM role. Much more exciting as an attacking option, as he was when Murphy came on & released him. Adayemi - his poorest game yet. Not awful, just not as commanding as you'd like a DM to be. Mowatt - The invisible man. Still having problems taking set pieces. Can't anyone else do it, or perhaps get a coach to show him what to do? Byram - perked up a little in the last 30 mins. As Glory said, his shooting was wayward, but tbf, at least he wasn't afraid to have a go, rather than the side pass his team mates seem to favour. Not the Byram of old. He stepped up last season when he was asked to play right wing. Has now been asked to play a more fluid role in midfield, involving playing in the middle a lot, and it's clear that he's strugging. I hear he's desperate to go back to RB & I can fully understand that. Pity he'll only be a backup though, as Berardi has clamed RB for himself. Wood - isolated, so I'll be more forgiving with him than all the rest. Still worry that he's got a bit of a pointy head when it comes to heading the ball. Dallas - involved, determined, with some flashes of brilliance, but didn't really set the heather alight. TBF, he did make the goal ot of nothing. He's had better days though, and hopefully will have plenty more to come. Still think he should be playing on the right. Murphy (sub) - bloody brilliant. Took the match by the scruff of the neck. Can someone please tell me why he didn't start? Hope this isn't a Redders-like favourites lark. The middle of the park was his. Pity he only got 30 mins or so. Antenucci (sub) - did well, but perhaps not as good as some may have made out. Goal was obviously the highlight, but it was Dallas who made it for him. Still not sure if he should start on Tuesday.
Very good summary and I agree with pretty much all. Today was our worst performance of the season by far, just a bad day at the office (nearly) all over. We started quite well, but then Bamba started farting around with it at the back, got lucky once with his stupid dallying on the ball but did not heed the warning and got totally owned by their attacker and luckily Cooper was there to save the day on that instance. Their goal then came from poor defending, and the main culpret? the one the only Sol Bamba. Now, I'm not saying he should be out of the team as everyone has their bad games but he really had a stinker (first half really). Bellusci and Cooper should at least be given a go together I reckon... After our shoddy defending leading to their goal, we crumbled and limped into half time and everyone in the ground was getting more and more frustrated. Second half was better but we still couldnt manage to string two passes together and I actually put this down to a very organised Brentford defence. They were very solid and blocked 99% of our through-balls/crosses and had countless men behind the ball at our every attack. They then hit us on the counter and looked very menacing. On this basis I think we were rather lucky to get a point out of the game, but on the flip side, better finishing on out part could have seen us scored 4 or 5 towards the end. Mirco and Murphy had a few rather good attempts each and it was as if they were being paid not to score. It got to the point were I was praying Murphy didnt get another sight at goal, and Mirco really should have buried his last minute gift from their keepers awful clearance and with only the keeper to beat he tamely tries to guide it passed him and the result was a soft shot into the keepers gloves. Good performances - Murphy (despite his shooting), Cook, Cooper, Dallas..... Bad Performances - Byram (seriously needs to stop playing in midfield, worse than useless), Bamba, Wood (nothing feel for him and he struggles on his own) Other mentions - Berardi, one of our best defenders of late, not his best game today and their winger was running rings around him but he did okay. Man of the match - Murphy, despite not even playing 45 minutes
Agree with a lot of your write up Jock,..... Our midfield was once again over run and exploited in first half, second half not so much as we seem to go up half a gear, but still over run. Bamba's missing Bellusci, should've done much better to prevent their goal; I also agree, not really a captain, demote him to take the pressure off him, but who do you give it too? Why is Bellusci on bench? Things seem to perk up a bit after Murphy and Antenucci came on, Antenucci should be starting. I also suspect there's a bit of favouritism going on. I don't think Wood is going to set us alight with 15 to 20 goals this season, sub or starting I think Antenucci can go well past 10 goals. I don't think 1 striker up front is our best formation, this was shown time and again last season, we have 5 midfielders who can't seem to feed our striker/s. Midfield is going to be a continual problem for us at moment. Byram and Mowatt seem to have lost it so far this season. How long is Rosler going to persist in playing them both; not sure Phillips is quite ready yet but he'd do a lot better than both of'em, and give Sloth a make or break chance, he too would offer more than Mowatt and Byram at moment.
I don't think Bamba's missing Bellusci at all. If anything, it was Cooper that was missing Bellusci! Bamba seems to be 1st pick whatever he does, so the simple answer to your quesion is that Belusci is on the bench because Cooper is impressing more than he is (and is less likely to pick up a yellow/red). I also wonder if there is potentially an attitude question, following the aleged interest in aking Bellusci back to Italy. Speculation on my part, but I would not be surprised. Loyalty is a 2 way thing. I'm really not convinced that Ant should be starting atm. He's definitely 'got it' as an impact sub. Not convinced we should abandon our 4-3-3 strategy just to accommodate him. As Rosler said today, 4-4-2 is plan B, which proved necessary in this game. The assumption from that statement is that it will (almost) always be 4-3-3 we start with. Ant has already povedon numerous occasions that he cannot play up front alone. Remember Redders (stupidly & publicly) telling him he'd need to learn how to do it? He didn't. Not so sure what the answer is in midfield, but I don't think it currently lies with Mowatt or Byram. Either they are the reason that our 4-3-3 is faltering, or it is our 4-3-3 that is making them falter. Either way, I think it's time for them both to be rested. Either might be well suited to being impact subs, particularly Mowatt. I have great faith in Erwin & could see him replacing Byram easily. The mid 3 blend of Murphy, Adeyemi & Cook does it for me, with Philips covering injuries/suspensions & Mowatt coming on when someone tires (as they will). Sloth? Mystery. Can't get a game under any manager. Can't get on the bench with this manager. Wasn't sold or loaned out in the TW. Very strange situation for an established international to be in - or to allow himself to be in! Very puzzling. Cannot believe for a minute that it's a footballing matter that's the issue, as all the recourses for rectifying footballing issues have been ignored..
