Just seen the goal on SSN, a bit harsh on McG I think, the defending looked very poor, I'd have to watch it again to be sure.
You know what you get with Meyler. Pulling him off because his passing was poor is bizarre. It's like taking McGregor off for not getting forward enough. If you want someone who can pass don't start him in the first place.
Something needed to change, and he picked up a booking. It's as simple as that. If he hadn't been booked, he might well have stayed on and seen Hayden get the hook instead.
Pulling him off because his passing was poor is perverted. No wonder we are playing badly. Our players must all be shadows of their former selves if this is the club's response to a misplaced pass or two. I'm not surprised that Jake took to taking a toot. It was probably all he could do to get through a training session.
In peace, as ever. The pre match tributes were touching. I think the whole of the 800+ Hull fans were there for it. Salute them all. For 15 minutes it was men v boys, we absolutely slaughtered you, but all pro teams are cute and a few breaks in play stopped our rhythm. Nothing against that, I'd expect us to do the same under that kind of pressure. The substitution was a little bizarre as I couldn't see an injury, and it looked like Steve Bruce used him as a scapegoat. After the break up of the first 15, honours were quite even. I decided for a change just to watch our lines and how disciplined we were or were not. We actually were never going to concede a goal from anything other than some super strike or set piece. A very solid Brighton formation. Having said that, I won't get carried away, we are in a great position, but it is only September. We are 24 points from relegation safety. Don't get down on your lads, you will definitely be there or there abouts come season end, and playing you away will be a seriously difficult game. Best of luck for the rest of the season, other than that away game for us!
Mr Hat is Mr Bruce's arch enemy - not that he's necessarily fickle, as he's been criticising him ever since he was pulled screaming from the womb of a jackal.
A poor pass or two; **** me, the bloke couldn't get the ball to a team-mate stood six yards away. He got caught dallying on the ball a couple of times facing his own goal- he played a major part in their goal - he was absolutely shocking....possibly the worst 30 minutes he has had. Whatever else I could criticise Bruce for: fair play to Bruce for making a decision early.
Not being funny, but if that is 2 promotion contenders I have just witnessed, the rest of the Championship must be seriously limited. The best I could say about Albion is that they showed a bit of bite, were disciplined and kept their shape.....I can see you finding it difficult to break teams down though, especially at home. As for us, we were slack and all over the place for the first 35 minutes and pedestrian after that, despite ever increasing possession.
Could somebody please tell Bruce that we ain't in the premier league anymore where your away trips are to places like Man city and arsenal etc, where your happy to come away with a point! We are now in the championship where we should be attacking from kick off with the bloody intention of winning the game!!! Every away win this season is guaranteed to be at best a 1-0 bloody win with Bruce content with that! I'm afraid the previous posts calling for his head are going to increase ten fold at this rate, people do need to wake up to the fact that for the last 18 months we have been awful to watch with dreadful tactics and shocking team selections! I don't care that he got us promoted, kept us in the premier league or got us to the FA cup final, the facts are you can't live in the past and he's not cutting it anymore!
Hovetiger, you have been used to Championship footie before, you know the score. The 'rest' are only limited by the way they are set up against other teams. I saw two very good sides out there today, and I am a 4 year+ veteran of it now! Perhaps you were a little taken away with the Prem, get your mind back on the business end of footy, the Championship. Two very good sides that will be there or thereabouts come May. We will tear sides apart at home that don't have your ability. We have our fortress back, I hope. Being top, and having been there before for 3 of our 4 seasons in the division, we know the added pressure of the 'bus stop' scenario, we just have to overcome it. If you believe it is limited, fair enough, I don't see that.
4 year+ meant the 4 years since we have been back in the second tier, not the time I have spent watching footy!
I think the Championship looks dreadful this season. The fact we're still sixth is evidence enough of that.
I think you guys are on a downer for losing, I understand that, and like all fans all over the world, you'll change your opinion on your next win.
Heres a cracker, happy was once sitting in ththe fence with regards the Allams! http://www.not606.com/threads/bruce.149098/page-9
FFS sake how long did you take to find that? I was looking for something earlier & gave up after about 20 minutes as I can't get the ****ing dates of the posts I'm looking for in here.
Erm. I was right about everything, so, thanks Bob. That's pretty much my view still too, despite all the **** posted about my alleged views.
