It wasn't nice having no money but we played good football with a tiny squad. I think he's a knob as much as you do but he's an excellent manager.

Everyone didn't say it at the time at all. After he left there was a lot more talk about his style being boring. We played some great football at times, our problem then was mainly finishing, we used to create loads and not score. There was loads of talk on here about how we just needed a player like Lambert, Austin or Wood. Now we have better players, more money and we just create **** all.

Think it was 12 goals in 27 home games under Pearson.
Not even trying to get into the play offs towards the end with Guzan playing for time at 0-0 when we needed to go for a win.
We counterattacked away from home and broke a record but it was ****.

They bloody weren't. Boring, defensive football most of the time. Was awful to watch a lot of the time.

Nick Barmby should never have been sacked. Given the same backing as Bruce hs hd, he'd have at surpassed what Bruce has achieved, whilst having a more enjoyable time.

The most worrying aspect of Steve Bruce's current situation is his apparent loss of enthusiasm. Until quite recently he seemed to be genuinely enjoying the job but in his recent interviews he just sounds worn out and I think this does tend to rub off on the team and is reflected in uninspired performances. If he can get his spark back I think he's till the best man available for the job - maybe when he comes off his diet.......

I don't think I've ever agreed with you, however having said that, there's no evidence to suggest he would have done anywhere near as good a job as SB.
It's one of those "what if's."

Why anyone would want Pearson back is beyond me. The smug prick showed no enthusiasm about coming here and he didn't give a **** about the fans when he walked out.
Some people must enjoy being treated with disdain.

I've seen Huddlestone came on after 37 minutes, so its a Bruce Out for me, his love affair with this sloth is costing us time and time again, seeing as we lost 1-0 I can't see what kind of positive impact he could have had on the game and it's been the same for 18 months. Sorry Bruce you lost me today

How is Phelan managing to escape criticism for the way the team is setting up? Surely he has at least as big an influence over tactics and style as Bruce, and possibly more?

I was honestly perplexed with his formation choice today, a formation we haven't played and at the league leaders. We are seeing really negative selections, team set ups and it is really dull to watch. I like Bruce, but he is really testing wor patience at the moment.

I have to say I totally agree with Chazz. Football under Pearson was like death by 1,000 paper cuts. ****ing horrible. Don't confuse how Leicester spawned safety last season with how we played under Pearson - the tracks really couldn't have been further apart.

I've been going 40 odd years, so no armchair warrior! I said during last season I wouldn't renew my ST, and the Airco scandal nailed it for me, so, no, I haven't been this season yet. I've watched games on streams when on, and if not then listened on the radio at the time and watched on TigerPlayer after. So, I've seen and heard enough.

The penny dropped with me regarding Bruce around xmas time last season (Everton at home gave one false ray of hope, then after that it became blindingly obvious. I wasn't the first, but was well ahead of the now finally growing groundswell as others finally cotton on. I stopped performing the 'Steve Bruce' seal song at that time, and sat there shaking my head in bewilderment at all the seals around me. I just couldn't fathom it. I'm not the sort to start a 'Steve Bruce out' chant, nor to boo the team or a player during a game. But I have my opinion and message boards are a pretty good place to voice them.

As for who to bring in? I can't stomach more of the negative crap and underperformance. He comes across well in the media and maybe is a nice guy (maybe, I don't know in reality), but he's been **** for more than a season and there's zero sign of him improving. I wanted to see Pullis replace Bruce. Now I honestly don't care, just not Bruce. Even just give it to Phelan. Hoddle could be an interesting option; he should be managing, but it ain't going to happen. How about Ashbee and Woodhouse :). Anyone! Unfortunately Allam won't sack him so we're likely stuck until it's too late.

Regarding Pearson. He was a very good manager but a horrible man. He did a great job in turning around the mess here, we played boring but solid football while he turned it around, but then by the time he left we were playing some really good football. I have little doubt that he would have got us promoted. But no I wouldn't want him back, obnoxious man. Allam wouldn't bring him back anyway.
