Walked the dog to calm down (and went slap bang into my Utd neighbour) , but rather than give individual ratings I'll say this:

    Team: 4

    Bron: 3

Did we try to drag them to our level in the first half? I think Redknapp give this team illusions of grandeur by saying they were bang ordinary - they're not that good. Lucas, Milner and Can - the slowest midfield in the league? And.... well, I won't go on, as it's not worth it. But no sour grapes, why the **** didn't we attack United? I grudgingly accept they're a better team than us, but we played the first half as if we were defending against Barca at the Nou Camp. Dire.

As to Firmino: from what I've seen so far he's Borini with go faster stripes. Ibe was five times better when he came on.

And please no-one have a go at Gomez. He gave away a daft pen but still held his own with no ****ing support again. And Ings, bless him - why ****ing play him there and leave Ibe on the bench?

Anyway, congrats United, you were the better team. You didn't quite walk all over us like West Ham did (or many other teams this season are going to do, that's for sure), but you're mediocre going in the right direction. You will get better and easily nail on a top four place, maybe even second. We'll rally and get 7th or 8th. Perhaps.

I listened too. I heard Collymore say was Can was disinterested, but on Twitter they were saying he was OK. Who is right?

Also, Gomez: bad luck with the penalty but a lot is expected of him. Feel sorry for him. Lovren <doh>

As wishi says, he won't before may. Btw, did I see the daft ponce blaming it all on a dodgy free kick against Clyne? Deluded.

can was listless, slow and rarely supported the man on the ball. Pointed a lot though. Gomez played well, I thought, apart from the pen, as did Clyne, apart from the free kick. then again, United spent most of the first half just passing the ball around in front of them. Lovren was not our worst player by a long chalk. The fact that he wasn't much better than normal says it all about the others.

I've always tried to be positive about Rodgers but I'm losing faith in the bloke - and fast! I think his time is up. He's had long enough, and bar the one season where Suarez dragged us to 2nd, he's yet to have a good season.

Seriously hope the owners are considering Klopp right now because I think Rodgers' time is up.

All of the above, I'm afraid.

It's fine saying they play out of position and they probably do, but when they're paid what they're paid you expect them to have some 'go' - what 'go' we have seems to have got up and gone from what I can see.

The transplant committee wouldn't spot a world class player if one bit them on the arm, they got lucky with Suarez.

FSG: no judgement in their choice of manager. The up-and-coming promising 'young' manager is getting older...

Rodgers: his ideas and his tictacs don't work

Rodgers days are numbered now. He's lost the dressing room, he's lost the supporters, surely the support of the owners is next to follow. He sacked the backroom staff, let them take the fall but ultimately he's failing. Round pegs in square holes, setting up to defend against United, 2 worldies and an offside goal in 5 games. Not good enough.

Fed up with hearing the words 'potential' rather that world class with all our players. Now I know how an arsenal fan feels. Lol...

FSG missed a trick by sacking the coaches and keeping Rodgers. Well we can all see it is not working. We've got 7 points but it could have been much less than that. We could even argue we could have been in the bottom third if some decisions had not gone our way.

If we had performed and still got beaten by a much better team then fair enough. This United team is not playing well and is not IMO bigger than the sum of its parts. By just sitting back, we were just waiting for them to score and when they did we had no answer. Ings was played as a midfielder.

All we ended up doing is giving them a huge lift. I am dreading the return leg and Rodgers being rogered yet again by the Dutchman.

We scored from a cross... if we'd set up like I suggested with Moreno and Milner wide sticking crosses into the middle for Big Ben we'd have walked this game.

£10k a week and I'll do the job for the rest of the season lads <ok>

I honestly believe we have a decent team, full of good players. BUT - utlized poorly?

We have a 19 year old RCB played at LB. Milner a RW played as a CM, two number 10s played as a winger and a striker played as AM. That's today alone, when he struck upon the diamond in the 13/14 the season he got then the best out of every attacking player in our team.. Exact opposite this season.

You can't play 433 or the diamond with no pace in the front six. set that up any way you want, but we're too slow and we don't have the individual skill on the ball (especially in tight situations) that even this ordinary United, let alone City have. We're ****ed.

We can get the most of our players by playing 4-4-2 diamond.
Why buy players then play them out of position? Just don't get it!

I'm not saying play a diamond. I'm saying that he hasn't found a system which gets the best out of any of our attacking players.

Claiming we are rubbish doesn't help your cause lads. We beat you, comprehensively, without a recognised striker and just one actual centre back.

Allow that to sink in. <whistle>
