Match Day Thread Manchester United vs Liverpool

I think the team is good it's the manager and tactics that is the problem. Get a good manager who can get the best from this group of players.

 

Apart form Arsenal

 

Clyne - okay, he does have potential to be very good.
Can - he's okay. Nothing overwhelming and isn't played in his correct position anyway
Hendo - good solid player, but not outright quality
Miler - another good, solid player but not world class.
Couts - bit of magic. Reminds of Luis Garcia in the sense he can score any goal but also miss any. He's good.
Firminho - early days to be fair
Benteke - a good striker but lets see how it works out
Sturridge - injury prone but good on his day
Gomez - looks a good prospect
Ibe - another good prospect
Origi - I'm not sure yet

That is not a good team by any stretch of the imagination.

That team says Swansea City, not Liverpool.

 

Clyne is good. Can is great. Coutinho is fantastic.



Hendo is decent. Looks good because the rest of our midfield is Crap.
Milner works hard but nothing special.
Firminio and Benteke are overrated.
Sturridge will probably never play a full season for us at 90% Of his ability from a few years ago.

Gomez and Ibe have potential. Origi is probably the new N'Gog.

 

I think the most depressing/frustrating thing about this situation is that it doesn't have to be like this at all. We could've signed 2 centre backs of real quality with the money spent on Sakho, Ilori & Lovren, 1 quality GK for the money spent on Mignolet, 1 left back for the money spent on Gomez & Moreno, 2 good wingers and central midfielders for all the money we've spent on those positions over recent years and 2 or 3 good striker in the squad. Instead we're stuck with this mish mash of players who are barely good enough for top 6 and a squad which has big gaps in certain positions which means the likes of Ings, Firmino, Gomez etc. being played out of position to plug the gaps.

 

- Playing Lovren
- Still having Skrtel
- Starting Gomez
- No urgency, no fight

Can't wait for Brendan to go.

I agree with you. It was a horrendous performance but at least we wernt slaughtered. They were better but fairly equal.

I was half expecting to be slaughtered today.

They are a good team who we will no doubt be fighting with for 6-8th.

 

It was a fantastic goal. He still needs to score more however.

What helped was there was no contentious **** going on like bad decisions or bullshit antics, pretty clean game.

After West Ham.. and how unconvincing we have been against Bournmouth and Stoke. Arsenal is the only decent performance we've put in and even then only in the first half we were awful in the second half.

So 5 games and 45 mins of good football.
