@ahtralfie: Hull City away league form, last 20 games: D D D L L D L W L L D L D L L W L D L L 2 wins, 7 draws, 11 defeats. #hcafc
We haven't. Wolves we were fine - keeper mistake cost us three points. We were okay for 60 minutes today too. We're nowhere near our best and yet we're still right up there - and some of those better sides have struggled to finish us off in our poor patches.
We've got more than enough to worry teams, except Bruce's tactics, formation and team selection leave a lot to be desired. Any other manager would snap your hand off to have the likes of Dawson and Diame in the team. I just don't think Bruce can motivate them and he isn't the right man for the job.
Huddlestone played, so that will please his fans. Wolves and Brighton both had more threat than us most of those games. If you don't test the opposition goalkeeper much then you will stuggle to compete at the top.
Well Akpom has been pretty much **** from day one but it seemed fashionable to blame Jelavic for all our ills. Get Carlton Cole in FFS
We were terrible in the first 10/15 against Wolves, should have been 3-0 down after 10 minutes, today was exactly the same according to those who were at the game. Charlton was probably the worst City performance since Barnsley away in April 2013. We have been absolutely dreadful away and distinctly average at home.
What a ****ing joke. We have by far the best players in this league, a well balanced squad that has defensive and attack capabilities in abundance, 100 points should be the minimum target. Sadly we have a terrified twat as a manager who ****s his pants at every enemy and plays to stop them rather than to our own strengths. Round pegs in square holes when we have plenty of choice to fill each position with a capable player. 70 minutes before a single pissing shot on target, and after that we muster a measly three. Three ****ing shots on target! Not only that, but he goes and takes off our best, most reliable and consistent player in David Meyler after 31 pissing minutes! Why start with such a pathetically negative team if it means sacrificing our best player after 31 minutes to fix it!! We also now find ourselves balancing on the edge of the play offs on goal difference, first place is out of sight, and we've looked **** in almost every single one of the 540+ minutes of football we've played this season. Steve Bruce is a dour, dreadful manager. We need to get rid of him ASAP. Anyone who can still sit there and defend him after the utter shambles we've seen since December 2013 is quite frankly not only deluded but a total cabbage. When can the Bruce out campaign truly begin? Not soon enough. Bruce is a big fat ****.
Then it makes our job even easier to boot his arse out the door, he might not get stuck in the door frame now.
We were singing about him before the match and after the match I think he came over with the City players but I totally forgot about him and he went round the rest of the ground
Judging by the comments on RH any one of the midfield could have been replaced as they were all performing poorly, it appears that Meyler was sacrificed due to getting an early yellow. But yes Bruce needs to give his head a shake and start with a balanced formation that's capable of putting together cohesive attacks.
Can we have a match report off Peter and Tuckin. What went on? What was the formation etc. Why Meyler off? Injured?
Do we think he has confidence in the players? If he did, he'd back them to operate in a more attack minded system wouldn't he? I personally see no reason why we shouldn't go for the throat more (or even at all) but Bruce is totally reluctant. Why? He assembled the squad. I just think we're wasting the talents at our disposal at the minute, to a massive degree. What is the meaning of it all?
We started 4-2-3-1 and went 4-4-2 in the second half. I don't think Meyler was injured - I guess SB wanted to get Thudd on and Meyler's booking made him expendable. We were unbelievably bad for about 25 minutes. After that we knocked it around better but showed no ambition - odd to play keep-ball for minutes on end when you're a goal down. I wonder if Peter and his phone made it...
But when city have possession they just pass it around at the back. I can't blame the players in possession they didn't have any other options
Great post. Sums it all up really. We need to start using the talents we have while we've still got them!
