    Just done my longest (bike) ride to date. Was aiming for 50 miles but fell (literally) and only completed 41 miles . I am completely ****ed but i have to say for a 49 year old 16 and half stone fatty, iwas pleased with my effort.

    Careful you don't ''overtrain''. Your muscles need time and rest to grow back before you break them down again. If you go consecutive days, work different muscles each day. Apologies if I'm telling you how to suck eggs. Although do eat them - great protein for muscle growth !

    what pull-up technique do you use? wide-arm is best for developing lats and core. you need to keep your core active to get real benefit/progress too. nee point just thrashing up and down.

    if you want to burn calories/ build stamina, try the Chelsea workout. **** name, ****ing killer of what appears a very simple routine.

    30 minute clock, then every minute on the minute you do 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 air squats.

    see how far you get. once you lose the time, just see how many more sets you complete. enjoy!!

    Enjoy it mate. My day will be the gym and then off to Beamish Adventure with the kids. Not even going to be able to see the game anywhere...

    4 times a week is fine mate. I always train a different part of my body every time I'm there, so I'm fine on that score as well <ok>
