Yep, there's a lot of fantasist policies that can't and won't work, it's all a bit ukip in terms of unworkable policies. I don't agree with scraping Trident, I don't believe in a stand off approach to the middle east and there's no way we could afford to re-nationalise the trains and energy companies. Think he's a bit deluded to be honest.
I'm not so sure Corbyn makes any difference. The pits, shipyards, steelworks and mills of N. England, Wales and Scotland are all gone, and it's nowhere near as easy today to see a clear purpose for Labour. They did a great job in the early days - nobody can deny them that. They were our party, the working man's party. But in 1987, MORI found that more trade unionists had voted for Thatcher than for Labour - and the writing was on the wall right then. Today, the only reason most people would vote Labour is if they hated the others enough. Major was daft enough to give them that chance, but I'm not so sure Cameron will.
Agree with you r.e. defence there. In an ideal world there'd be no need for nuclear weapons and military intervention, but we don't live in an ideal world.

Well I'll stick my neck out here, I admire Corbyn and I'm glad he won. He's spent years fighting for what he believes in, rather than just dropping every principle so he can get a seat in the shadow cabinet and more dosh in his wallet, like a hell of a lot of Labour MPs. I've heard him speak on the odd occasion (so yes, I'm on the left) and have found him a decent, principled man. While Bliar was lying and sending British troops to their deaths so that American oil companies could boost their profits in Iraq, Corbyn was opposing the war. He wants rail renationalised. What's extreme about that? Most of the British population are in favour. Briitsh Rail, crap as it was, was far superior to the privatised shower of ****e. And Bri, it wouldn't cost a penny, rail privatisation is based on a franchise system, you just wait till the fanchise comes to an end and the lines in question revert to the state. It makes me laugh when Corbyn & co. are accused of living in the 70s, rail privatisation means going back to before the Second World War! Unfortunately I can't see him getting very far, I reckon the majority of Labour MPs, who are careerists and not much better than the Tories, will find a way to get rid of him soon.

Politics is now all about winning power, not so much having idealistic views, if that was the case the Green party would win by a landslide everytime. Labour have today seen the beginning of the breakup of this Party. Corbyn will now surround himself by his far left friends, no serious politician could, would or should have anything to do with these mickey mouse ideas this guy has. We live in a capitalist world, he simply cannot turn back the clock. My bet is by the time of the next election there will be a new party to challenge the Tories, because under this guy, Labour have zero chance.

If for some reason you need to rent it out for a couple of years, Corbyn might let the new tenants buy it at a discounted rate you possibly wouldn't be able to pay off the remaining mortgage with the discounted rate it got sold at, so effectively you wouldn't have a home and would still owe money on a mortgage
