Do you think that Brendan is going to release any other players now that we have had our first pre-season games, I do think the team is simply to large to be honest.

And on that for those who went to the games on Saturday , how did the trial players get on today are they worth a contract with us ?

Yea well he has always said he wants a small squad (or was that Sousa?)
So i'd imagine he would have gotten rid of some more players. In all honesty, I think it's because of the situation we are in. Most of them don't have prem experience, so needs to try them all out. Who ever turns out to be a flop will go the following summer.
It seems like the thinking is to carry league players to give them a chance at the top flight.

Buck was interviewed after today's games and said that Cotterills future lies elsewhere,Boddes like a new signing, and he wants a new keeper by the weekend.

I quite liked the look of that Radames fella, i know the standard of opposition wasn't very high, but I thought he looked quite handy, also unrelated but Harley impressed me

Regarding the young Belgian keeper I read a quote from his Chairman saying that Chelsea had made such a big offer they couldn't refuse so he's defo going there I imagine
Think Camp will be coming after we make an improved offer this week

We still have a loy of dead wood at the club and was hoping we would have reased them by now. Time for pintado to go. Cant see Macdonald playing any part this year and no doubt theres others i have forgoten. they just need to be cut loose.

Why? It costs exactly the same to release them as it does to keep them unless they are happy to go for a mutual fee.

The cost of releasing some players is significantly less than keeping them on their wage and seeing out the contract.

No it's not Doey. Unless there is a built in clause or the player agrees you have to pay up the basic wage in full.

hacker, release them as we are only allowed a certain number in the squad. what is the point of having someone in the 25 we are never going to use. pay them off. yes it costs but at least we have a squad where everyone is usable and not just dead wood. or do we still want the likes of pintado here for ever.

Trundle, we are allowed 25 over-21s, we don't have anywhere near that many.

I'd rather keep the extra bodies around (if only to give the reserve team some experience, remember they are playing a better class as well now) and try to get other clubs to take them off our hands (even for free) as THAT is the most cost effective thing to do with them.
