If the leftist candidate of the party wins (as expected) the middle and right of the party should either follow their leader elected by the Labour voters or start off a new party to suit their own politics.
Yvette Cooper (aka **** face) and co will be ****ing raging their heads off and working out how to destroy Corbyn like they have ben doing up to this point. The **** should just quit and go join the Tories
He's got it ... CORBYN WINS !!! he's smashed it 59% of votes Burnham 2nd 19% Cooper 17% and Kennedy gets 8% this is the first round btw
The Tories will be having a celebration as well, they will be looking forward to at least 10 yrs in power and a licence to pretty much do what they want.
I don't think any of the 4 candidates or the Labour party in general will be in a position to genuinely challenge for a while, but Corbyn is the right man at the right time as opposition leader and emerged as by far the strongest candidate
Maybe, but it was the rank and file labour supporters that elected him and their voice will be better heard in a party now led by someone that shares their views.
Time will tell, but there is a danger the party will now fracture into various groups who will fight and backstab each other.
There are a couple of things in Corbyn's policies that I am in favour for Salary caps for bankers Higher tax for the rich NHS budget increase Then there are a few things that made me go WHAT......THE.......****......!!!! Such as: Withdrawing from Nato!!!! Staying in the EU Scrapping all tuition fees (good in theory, but almost impossible to do) Renationalising all Energy and transport companies
Over 70% of the general public have said they want the railways re-nationalised, so not exactly a wtf moment.
Is it true he also wants to reopen the coal mines. Where the hell is the market for coal now all the power stations are oil/gas/nuclear. Any coal fired stations are either closed or about to close. If he brings back steam trains he will get my vote!!
If labour voters want out of the EU and NATO then.. isn't that how it works, Corbyn represents what those who elected him want? Aren't we always bitching that they do not serve us? And it is vastly more expensive now too Renationalisation of energy definitely, and transport is run just as badly by private companies like Virgin as it is by state bureaus. Scrapping tuition fees are the corner stone of equality. Fees create inequality, have's and have nots. It is how you go about these projects that is the substance, not just stating htem as one line as above and judging them, the plan is what matters everything else is hyperbole, one needs to look at how he plans to do these things
good that Tom Watson is deputy. I voted for him. Hope he'll dog Murdoch and all his nefarious interests through every committee, every vote, every PMQ. Murdoch needs to be on very agenda in the public mind. he pulls the strings and hides in the background. No more - make him centre stage. I voted for Burnham, but Corbyn was my second choice. Can't see us being elected whoever we had chosen today, so at least we're not kow-towing to Murdoch, the media and big business in the vain hope that they may let us 'rule' for five years, in some sort of buggins turn world. Nah, opposition is better than felating the Murdoch's and the Mail.
I suspect he would finance all his policies by a combination of tax rises and printing money. The older ones on the board can remember 98% tax rate under Labour for the top earners in the Sixties, and surprise, surprise lots of the top earners left the country so we got no tax at all from them. It will be back to the politics of envy and animal farm type leadership. Can anyone name a very left wing state that is a success?
Well his plans so far seem to be get extra cash by taxing the rich more. Which I am all in favour of theoretically. But then you have to answer a) Will it generate enough cash and b) will it cause a mass exodus of the rich from Britain.
