Yeah I got that, was more a general comment about how it's not as stupid a deal as some may think given the relatively (and I hope I don't live to regret this statement) straight forward standard procedure
On the contrary this gives him 6-8 weeks to get settled in England, get to know his team friends and study the game up close in person. Should make his transition a bit smoother.
So long as he doesn't watch the games and think he might find it hard going, that's happened before- sometimes better just to get on with it
Strange one this. We obviously knew he was injured when we signed him since he'd withdrawn from the Norwegian squad. I assume he had a medical with us. Yet the (presumably) same group of incompetents who said NO to Austin and YES to Bullard and Diame, said OK to Diomande. Now I've heard that we knew Snodgrass' knee was fragile and could go anytime. The Barton challenge looked innocuous yet he's been gone for over a year. I've asked this question before but received no answer. Who is (are) our medical advisor(s) who seems to get EVERYTHING so horribly wrong.???? Whoever the hell he, she, they are have a lot to answer for. !!!!!!! Too bad Mourinho isn't in charge here rather than Mr. Nice Guy. He seems to know how to deal with incompetent medics.
I don't know whether you can blame the medical staff. They are only giving their advice and it's the chief executive who would make the final decision on whether we sign somebody.
I picked up that the medical was not done by us, but by the Norwegian Olympic medical team to get the deal done. They found a small issue that was flagged up as strain similar to Maloney's and went ahead. Turned out to be a bit more so have taken this course of action to get it done and out of the way.

He was a deadline day signing... Would people rather we brought nobody in? Gives Diomande a rest after a long season. Akpom is back. Aluko can step in off the bench. Hernandez is showing the right signs. Gives an in form Luer a window of opportunity. Not ball breaking news. I don't rate Ameobi. Cole is alright but injury prone. By comparison, Diomande could come back and be amazing for us all season. We shouldn't need Cole.
Agreed. We signed him with a view to the next however many years. We've enough forward options to cover his injury for the next couple of months.
We should have gambled with Charlie Austin first time around. This one stinks to high heaven. Who did the medical? Dr Jive?
Not directing this at you, but wasn't there someone on here a while back saying clubs never buy injured players, no matter how minor or serious the injury is? I agree with your mentality for what it's worth, but we'd still want to be looking in the loan market I'd think.
we are and this is a risk signing but it could turn out to be a bargain, or a flop like proschwitz it's these sorta risks that are worth making
