He was comfortable enough to turn down the contract offer at Xmas kemps. He's done whats right for him and is very media savvy, wish i coulda stayed etc. Well you could but didnt. He's the enemy now **** him
He turned down a contract when we still looked a reasonable bet at staying up, and in the Premier League he got very little playing time, can't blame him for wanting to be certain he'd play before committing to a contract. We should have offered him a contract at the end of the season and we didn't which was a mistake as we now look massively flawed defensively in both fullback positions. He's still one of my favourite footballers and as long as we win I hope he has a good game.
Steve Bruce certainly looks thinner. He hasn't looked thinner in previous matches so maybe he's gone on a crash international break diet or fitness regime. We can tell better tomorrow: everybody may be saying "Where's Steve Bruce?" The OWS said that there's no parking at the Amex but last season I parked at The Bridge Car Park and I'll be aiming to do so again this season.
He has to make sure its a competitive season! If we won every game our fans would moan about the league not being competitive enough.
I must admit I am impressed with Brighton. Fans being able to stay behind after the match with the kiosks open up to 8 pm. I know it may be due to the transport problems. They do have a railway station near the ground. I saw massive queues after the game last season. I don't remember having any problems getting on the train at Boothferry Park even when there were bigger crowds.
I asked the question before about the kc just letting 20k people leave after a game without trying to relieve them of some more money! Some of the concourse could be sectioned off after the game and re-show the match and sell more beer! Why would anyone want to be stuck in traffic after a game?
You've got me worried now, Peter. I'm hoping the Lewes-bound queues won't be as bad as the Brighton-bound? I've got to be on the 17:52 from Lewes to the Smoke.
You will need to be hot off the blocks. It's hard to get from the away end, the biggest stand empties out between you and the station. I would get to the left hand furthest exit and go out from there, turn right out of the exit and when you get to the station check with the steward that you are joining the right queue.
Cheers. There are five Falmer-Lewes trains between 5.00 and 5.39, so I'd be pissed off if I didn't get on any of those.
