I agree mate that's how it should be. Sadly these days in most offices you have to be careful. I even got a few "warning looks" from people the other day when a colleague tripped on a bit of carpet and stumbled and I went "weeeeeeeeey".

I might try three messages:
1 a straight forward request to connect
2 a straight forward respectful compliment
3 an over the top rude comment

I wonder if the result would be the same as what Henry Root (William Donaldson) got when he sent two letters to Esther Rantzen - one a gushing letter full of compliments and the other a letter full of insults - and he got two identical responses.

 

But that's not so much fun as teasing her into sending out responses.
