Diomande has undergone groin surgery and will be out for 6-8 weeks.

Shaun Maloney has been ruled out for 2-3 weeks with a hamstring tear.

Chuba Akpom is confirmed fit for the weekend.

    Steve Bruce on Jake Livermore:

"I'm delighted he's back. I'll never condone what he's done but in life we all make mistakes."

"Some people will never forgive him but as far as I'm concerned he's apologised for his mistake."

"He was delighted to be back as you can imagine. He's been through a lot. We hope he can get over the problems he's suffered."

"Let's let him get on with his life and back playing. He's in decent shape. He's a natural athlete."

"I feel like I let him down a little bit. There was obviously times when he was in a dark place. We should have done more."

Steve Bruce admitted City are one of the Championship clubs to have shown an interest in James Wilson. Unsure if possible.

Usually they at least get to slip on a City shirt for a few minutes before getting crocked. Diomande has taken it to another level.

McGregor has done his (it sounds like he was only there five minutes) and Bruce's was due to start at 9.00, but they're usually a little later than billed.

Any reports anywhere as to what Diomande's injury is? If it's a long term knee injury I may just cry

EDIT - just seen on HDM, just a groin strain

Recent signings Shaun Maloney and Adama Diomande have both been ruled out of this Saturday’s trip to Brighton & Hove Albion due to injury.

Maloney is set to miss two to three weeks of action with a hamstring problem picked up whilst on international duty with Scotland while striker Diomande, signed on deadline day, has had surgery on a groin problem this week and is likely to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

“Unfortunately Adama had to have a procedure on his groin yesterday,” said Bruce.

“We thought he had just picked up a normal groin injury in his last game for his club in Norway, but he had an operation on Thursday which will keep him out for the next six to eight weeks.

“We think Shaun will be out for two or three weeks with the hamstring he nicked whilst with Scotland.”

On a more positive note, striker Chuba Akpom looks set to be fit to face Brighton after recovering from the knee injury that kept him out of England U21 duty last week and Mohamed Diame is in good shape having shown no adverse reaction following his recent return from a long-term lay-off.

Meanwhile Jake Livermore, who trained for the first time on Thursday following his return to the Club, is likely to feature in an U21s fixture in the next couple of weeks before being considered for a first-team comeback.

“Physically you can tell Jake has been doing a lot in the gym and he is in decent nick,” added Bruce.

“We’ll know more about where he’s at in the next two or three days but I would envisage it being at least two or three weeks before we see him back playing and an U21 game a week on Monday is maybe a target that is in my mind, but we’ll see how he is.”

Robert Snodgrass continues to make progress in his recovery from a long-term knee injury but isn’t yet ready for a playing return.

The Tigers will be up against a familiar figure in the shape of Liam Rosenior, who forms part of a Brighton squad that shows no new injury problems following their unbeaten start to the season. Rosenior made 161 appearances before his departure from the KC Stadium this summer.

We would have started better had you not thrown the ball in for a Wolves equaliser! Thanks Allan!

Same team that started the Preston game for me. Still have a strong group on the bench as well.

He didn't throw the ball in - he dropped it and the Wolves player headed it in. I agree with the general sentiment though!

He may as well have thrown it in, it was an absolute howler. In great goalkeeping gaffs - this must have the credentials to make a top 10 list. It was a nothing ball and a simple take, not for our Allan though.

He's gone for a few months and I've forgotten about him already.

His nanas from Hull should be given an airing.

Liams one of those people, when I see him in another clubs shirt, I feel really uncomfortable about it.

Listening to McGregor again reminds me why I was so seen to leave Scotland and come back to Gods own county. He epitomises how dour the Scots are.
