Would Collins have got anywhere with Calzaghe? Pulled out of their fight and retired, probably a good move in my opinion.
Ha ha.... Sometimes the fight just comes at the right/wrong time ! Was Kevin MacBride a better fighter than Mike Tyson ??? Even a blind squirrel often finds a nut !!!!!
Proba ly not. Different ages. Ive read that ****s book cakzaghe. Self pittying ****. I despise him as a person. But he was a good fighter
Mayweather is a complete kernt IMHO, but a great boxer. He should watch out though. Larry Holmes was on the point of beating Marciano's record and look what happened to him when Michael Spinks (a light-heavy FFS!) hove into view. Piss my pants if he loses this one. I haven't disliked a boxer as much as Mayweather since Sugar Ray Leonard refused to give Tommy Hearns a rematch and then squeaked a draw from a fight he clearly lost on points. Mind you, SRL turned up at the SoL one day, in a bit of a turn-up. Might be a fan...?
The Puff from Brighton, even though I loathed the arrogant **** but he was technically outstanding. Loved Watson though, utterly tragic what happened. He had that fight too.
Best fighter... Or.... Best boxer ?? I was a huge Nigel Benn fan and couldn't believe it when Eubank got the draw at Old Trafford to retain his belt. Benn ALWAYS took on the best that boxing could offer... Eubank didn't want to be in the same time zone as Gerard McClellan never mind the same ring. And what a fight that turned out to be !! DeWitt and Barclay fights also spring to mind as ones No-one else fancied taking apart from Benn. Don't get me wrong I liked Steve Collins, he was a big strong lad but in my opinion if they'd have fought earlier he wouldn't have lived with the venom of Benn. Benn got less hungry towards the end of his career whilst I think Collins got stronger. My opinion like In answering your question.... It's a sport of results and statistics so although I don't like say it... Chris Eubank has the best overall record.
They were great days, the Benn, Eubank, Watson fights. Met Benn once. He used to DJ with an ex-neighbour, I think in Majorca, Ibiza, somewhere like that. Built like a tank, well, when standing next to me!
I'm not one who'd say Ali is Goat but Hed rank above Floyd imo. Retiring undefeated doesn'tmake you the best ever. Floyd's record doesn't stand up to scrutiny after the Castillo fights and its easy to pick apart. How many people has he beat that were in or around their prime aand in their strongest division. Made Hatton look like ****? He fought Hatton at 147 which Hatton never looker good at in the few fights he had at welter. Kenny Bayliss stepped in any time there was a hint at inside fighting and completely stifled Hatton all night
He waited as long as possible to fight PAC hmm i wonder why. After the second Castillo fight he's only fought 2 undefeated fighters Hatton and Canelo. Hatton was never comfortable at 147 and only moved up due to his lack of discipline between fights. Canelo he knew was raw and got him early. Canelo could go on to be a great but his prime is still to come. Judah was past his best and damaged goods. Mosley past it De La hoya past it Guerero Ortiz Maidana x2 absolute joke match ups to pad his record out
What time is it on 5 am in the morning ? hehe, the BBC should get their finger out and show big fights instead of crappy tennis £50 m spent on that.
They're too busy trying to figure out how to get into disabled kids underpants to worry about what to put on their tv channels mate, it's a lost cause.
Mayweather is a fraud and a **** to top it off. Possibly one of the most overrated boxers in history. People go on about his record, it's false. He has lost on at least 2 occasions and possibly more, everyone knows it, unfortunately the "official statistic" will always show a -0 in his record, no matter what. I would wager that if he is knocked out (he won't be, but if) this weekend then there will be a disqualification coming post-fight for some flimsy misdemeanour or supposed doping from Berto. Then you look at how he has chosen his fights. I can't think of a single fighter that has point blank refused to fight his opponents at their best like Mayweather has. He is always taking people out of their weight divisions, out of their prime age etc, when he knows he can beat them. Pacquiao would have rinsed him 5 years ago and Mayweather knew, so he waited and waited until Manny had clearly lost that speed and explosion, then out-boxed him. He has done it time and time again and learned from the couple of fights he did have with genuine opponents in which the judges saved him. Good boxer but the fact he will go down as one of the greatest and is considered alongside Ali properly pisses me off.
Makes me laugh when people say pac would have beatenhim in his prime. While pac was getting older. Do they think mayweather was getting younger? Hes not benjamin button. For the record. I hope he does get beat.
